Costco Optical

Great optical department! Cameron was a huge help in adjusting my glasses. He installed brand new padding to my old pair too! Very friendly gentleman. Would definitely recommend going to this Costco if you want speedy and friendly service!

This review is related only to the Independent Optometrist at the Santee store (True North Eyecare). Excellent experience using the newest medical equipment. I was happy to find a doctor with decades of experience. Dr. Abbott answered all of my questions and took the time to explain all of my exam results. There was no sales pitch for new contacts or glasses. I highly recommend this business and will return for my next exam.

They only had two stars because the customer service is SOMETIMES good, if you go get a test done at the optometrist you WILL NOT REGRET IT. That being said, although their frames are very cute they do not last long at all!! online frames will last me twice as long as there’s due and they have no warranty or option for warranty.

A fun experience! They took the time to help me get the best glasses that fit me & would work with my prescription. Also got extra sunglasses, both for a lot less than what I would've gotten at my doctor's place. Worth the wait, highly recommend.

Weeks later :This location is the only Costco that’s close and that I know the layout. Getting gas a parking is easy once you know the layout. I came to get my daughter another pair of glasses. Sally helped us and was great. She took the time to find a frame with a hinge and in the color my daughter wanted. Sally also helped measure my daughter’s pupils individually for her left eye. It was a great experience for me and her. Sally was very friendly and explained everything clearly. I was happy and so was my daughter. Update 1 year later: I came back to get glasses here because I was grocery shopping. I was avoiding the unhappy rep at all costs. This lady is miserable. She asked me if I had any questions which I said I was looking for frames. She just had to Snidely say “ ok so no questions then?” No matter what answer I gave she would have had something smart to say. She just has a bad attitude and doesn’t belong in customer service or sales. I went to Kelly because she was the only other person there. She started by telling me that I couldn’t get the transitions I got last time. Literally the first thing she says to me. I don’t know why they would start with the negatives. Other than this weird comment she was fine. She was very efficient and fast. She knew what I wanted and answered my questions before I asked. They still have this air about them like they think they are better than you. I realize now that they are union and this is why their attitudes suck. I added 2 stars because Kelly was ok. I realize that these reps have seniority and can’t really be fired or reprimanded for a bad attitude. I am part of the same union and see this at my work all the time. I still come here because of the location. I just wish I could get Good and Friendly service. They provide very Sub par or on Par service. They just really don’t care and it shows. Everyone else at Costco is so friendly. It’s the customer service and Optical department that seem to hate their customers and/or job. I am not talking about the Doctor. The Doctors office they have are great! Excellent actually. I highly recommend the doctor they have. I have been here multiple times for my glasses and now my daughter’s glasses. The Doctors office are Great. The Tech is very nice and So is the Doctor. It's the people you have to deal with to buy the Glasses. It may be a Coincidence but it seems to be only the Women that work there. I have only been helped by the Women here but they all have the Same Attitude. I worked in Optical for years. I know lens Materials, coatings, insurance ETc. I had to ask multiple times to what My insurance covers. The woman Zoe or Zoeb was incredibly rude. She wouldn't answer my questions. She wouldn't quote what I was asking for. She wouldn't read my insurance printout for me. I had to literally go over my insurance line for line with her. Every answer was one word. I told her I didn't like her attitude and she said she was having a bad day. NOT MY PROBLEM! Don't take your day out on a customer. She instantly ran away and passed me off to a man who had the same attitude of they don't care about your business. They all act like they don't care about you or what you need. They just punch numbers into a computer. I only come here because my insurance is awesome here and the money I save. This has been about 4 visits over the course of 1 year for me and then my Daughter. Every time I dread dealing with these workers.
