I loved my first pair of glasses but the pair I have now require me to tilt my head in a ackward position to read anything. I've had them adjusted and now they're so tight I get headaches. I told the technician I felt the reading part of my glasses was to low on the lenses. Costco Optical Department how do I get a pair of glasses I can actually see out of without having to awkwardly tilt my head?

Today we were doing our normal Costco shopping and stopped by the vision center on the way out since my husband was due for new glasses. Kyle was the associate that helped us. He was very knowledgeable and had a great personality. He helped us with finding the correct size in the style my husband liked. He quickly looked up our insurance and let us know what they took care of and that there happened to be a $30 off deal going through Costco as well. We picked out 2 sets of frames, ordered, and left in under 30 minutes, amazing! Thank you for your help and expertise, Kyle!!
It really really REALLY pains me to leave a negative review about Costco. I've been a Costco fanboy since 1991, and they have never let me down. But tragically, the optical department at San Luis Obispo has let me down multiple times. So I thought I just had to leave a review. Bottom line is I tried to have a pair of computer glasses made, simply to replace the ones that I lost, (which had been working great). They tried twice, and even after getting the ok from their optometrist, two pairs in a row had the wrong prescription. First one focused too far away, and second one too close. So I went back again to have the glasses made for the THIRD time, using an older prescription that had worked perfectly for me. But since the prescription was just over two years old, I was required to go back and see the doctor to get the ok - AGAIN - who unfortunately, was not in that day (this whole process has already been going on for months). Plus the receptionist said that I might even have to come in and get a whole 'nother exam, etc etc etc - and I just couldn't do it. My patience was exhausted. Other customers wouldn't have given Costco as many chances - but again, I'm a fan boy. Really sad day. Costco (and/or the optometrist) failed. Four times in all.
I had a wonderful experience with Rachel there last Monday. She was very helpful fitting my new glasses. Not only that but she made me feel like I was a valued customer. I learn a valuable lesson and took away something more than just a new pair of glasses. Great job Rachel and thanks for your help!
I purchased a new Costco card because they take my insurance. I made an appointment for a week out it was at 1:15. I got there at 1. Went to the desk as I was talking to the girl, a lady pushed to the front and said she had a 3:00 but needed to be seen sooner. We sat down then I asked the worker if that lady was going to be seen before me. She said no that I would be. I turn around and she's gone. When I got to see the Dr I discussed what happened. Very strong in a mood. He was totally uncaring about the whole thing. After the exam I apologized and extend my hand to shake. He pulled his hand away and turned his back to me. I forgot to mention when I call to make the appointment I asked to make sure they took my insurance. She looked it up and said they don't take it. When the male employee was checking me out. I told him about the insurance. He looked it up and surprise they did accept my insurance. I will go back to get my glasses but that's the last time I will use Costco vision. I would rather pay out of pocket.
