I wanted to write a review to thank the bakery section for making the most cute and delicious cake for my son's birthday! We were so incredibly impressed with how it turned out, and I wish I could thank and tip the decorators personally! Thank you so much for making his birthday so special!

I had such a wonderful experience today at the East Lyme Costco buying new glasses! Summer was just terrific. She ran around and showed me many frames and we found the perfect pair! Not only that but she took time to deal with an insurance issue so I got the very best price. I am so glad to have worked with her today. Costco is lucky to have her as an employee and I feel lucky as a member to have her at my local warehouse.

Absolutely love shopping here, especially for Holidays! I love it when they have different things that you usually don't see in other stores. The prices can be great. The Waterford Costco is always clean and properly staffed. I just know better to not come here on weekends.

I have spoken to management several times about the way I have seen shoppers treated and the way I have been treated myself by cashiers and the employees who check receipts at the door, and I’m not sure what, if any, action is being taken because nothing has changed. I normally shop with my family (with my husband, young adult children, and teen) in tow, but had to come alone today. The cashier I ended up with was a little short with me when I asked which items she wanted up on the belt as I’ve been scolded by cashiers for both leaving clothing in the cart and not leaving it in the cart, fully emptying my cart onto the conveyor belt and leaving heavier or bulkier items in the cart. I can understand that she may have been a little frustrated with me as she was just opening up when I got in line and I assume maybe she wasn’t planning on having to check someone out so quickly, but she did not have the closed sign up at her counter. She was also very interested in having a conversation with someone named Josh, from what I overheard he is the adult child of a friend or coworker of hers, which left me trying to quickly get my items off the table while trying to pay. I still had about a dozen items on the table when she began scanning the items Josh had on the conveyor belt, and I was clearly struggling to get my items into the cart. I’ve had door greeters accuse me of trying to take items without paying for them when I’ve brought my reusable shopping bags in and packed them up while my family was eating at the cafe, and have also had them angrily insist items were missing out of my basket when I had already checked and knew that was not the case. I completely understand that they have a job to do, but my family and I have always been respectful and kind as I, along with most of my children, have worked in grocery and retail before and we understand the stress they’re under to get through the crowds. Nothing excuses the way members are treated at this location, and the way customers are treated just gets worse every year. Unfortunately, the customer service at this location is not what we’ve grown used to when shopping with Costco over the past 20 years across 6 states, and I am considering driving to shop at South Windsor from Ledyard because East Lyme has felt extremely unwelcoming in the past year or so. Three stars ONLY because the bakery and meat department are fantastic, and they usually have everything we need in stock.

i purchased hearing aids from Costco a few years ago and have to return for maintenance items. i haven’t always had a great experience. So I was very happy by my latest experience with Jennifer in the East Lyme, Ct location. She was patient, knowledgeable and extremely helpful. I will continue to visit this location for future needs.
