Costco Optical

Perfection! From being advised over the phone to seeing the optometrist, then picking out frames, the experience was very refreshing. I’ve always gone to small private practiced, but Costco’s optical department so impressed me. Customer service by the so young men at the desk was superb. The optometrist, I think his last name was Li, was very patient and explained things about my vision issues that one has ever bothered to before. Superior, superb! I will go here for the rest of my days!!!

Shout out to Barbara the optician! My hero!!! She answered all my questions. Helped me with my glasses and even cleaned them!!! Highly recommend!

The two employees at the Optical desk refused to sell me glasses because they didn’t like the way the glasses fit my face (even though I insisted multiple times that the glasses fit fine and they felt fine). They were rude and insulting. I’ve been wearing glasses for 26 years and I’ve never been treated like that while buying glasses before. The glasses I was trying to buy were almost the exact same size as the glasses I wore into the Optical Center, which I’ve owned for over two years, and which fit totally fine. To be clear, the employees didn’t have a problem with the frames fitting my prescription/lenses in them, they just thought the glasses looked bad on me (which they did NOT), and they wouldn’t let me buy them. We ended up leaving without buying any glasses. Just a shockingly bad experience, and really out of character for Costco as a company.

First time going to the Costco in Avon Ma for an eye exam. We figured why not give it a try? Well we were pleasantly surprised with Dr. Li. His quick response to our appointment and the scheduling on the website was simple and easy. We got an appt right away. Dr. Li was attentive, explained everything he was doing, showed us the results from the exam and was very through. He did not try to upsell us on any products to extras, unlike a lot of local optical places. I would highly recommend Dr. Li and Costco for all your eye care needs. Great job!!

I called the Avon Costco optical department to make an appointment for an eye exam. The phone was answered by the doctor herself and she was downright nasty. She explained she was busy with a patient, was retiring and had no appointments available until the end of the month. She offered to call me back “if that would work for me”. I’ve never had such a negative experience in simply calling for an appointment. It’s definitely time for this lady to retire.
