I found out I needed a prescription while I was in class and Dr. Madiwala helped me realize I need glasses. As someone who works in healthcare, it can be hard to pay attention to each patient, but she made it feel like she really cared and she wanted to take the time to educate me. I drive from a few towns over specifically for this Costco Optical department. My optical department in Edison is ALWAYS BUSY. I came a year later in 2026 for contacts and Dr. Madiwala and the technician helped me learn how to use them for over a half an hour. The quality of care and service is top notch!

Qiao Zhuo was super sweet and amazing! This is the fastest we have ever gotten glasses. She was so attentive and patient while we were looking and she helped explain our options and adjust them accordingly. Good experience here!
Outstanding customer service experience. We dealt with Liz, who was very helpful and solved our issue promptly and professionally. I would highly recommend Costco optical for a great customer service experience.
EDIT 2023: AWFUL Costco sells eyeglasses, they also provide vision prescriptions via a contract eye doctor. Strongly recommend skipping the eye doctor and going elsewhere. They refused to do an eye exam and issue a prescription for lenses without dilating my eyes. It’s 2023, this is not a thing. I get my eyes checked every 1-2 years and have literally had at least 20 eye exams over the past few decades without any issue. At a range of providers from big names (lens crafters, Pearl, Walmart) as well as independent physicians. I repeat, this is not a thing. FYI I went elsewhere the next day and had a fantastic experience and got a new prescription and a few days later, new eyeglasses with NO PROBLEM and NO DILATION. I seriously question the medical credentials of the eye doctor at Costco. Heck, maybe they have a diploma, but remember, in a class of 500, someone is #500. The entire experience felt more like visiting a used car sales shop than a professional optometrist. Keep in mind that most eye doctors either sell their own eyeglasses or partner with a store where they receive part of the sales. They don’t make a ton of money just doing the eye exams, which in my opinion is why this location tries so aggressively to upsell extra services to make money. Good luck if you still choose to go there, you’ll get strong armed for add-ons and extras. You were warned! —————— It happened because of a flat tire. No, really! So, it began with a mixup when we made the decision to get exams and eyewear from the local outlet of one of those ubiquitous national chains that accepts my insurance plan. That experience was lacking overall, and, when I received my specs, first they took 3 weeks to arrive, broke in the hands of the optician when being fitted, and then took forever again (another 3 weeks) to be reordered. When they arrived, they were not of the quality I expected, and that chain had no interest in seeing that I was satisfied. Which leads me to the flat tire. I left the house one morning to find that one of my tires had lost its will to live. No problem, I got the tires at Costco, so a few minutes with my inflator, and I was at Costco dropping off the car. What to do then? Shop, of course! Multitasking at its finest. I had never really even browsed the Costco vision center, and with time to kill, decided to swing by and put some of my time in captivity to good use. While there, I was greeted by an exceptionally professional and friendly associate, Fathiyyah, who took me through all the options, gave great advice, and helped me make all the choices. I ended up purchasing not one, but two pairs of glasses. It was a great experience, and really surpassed not only my expectations but the service I have received at standalone opticians my entire life. You could almost say I was glad I got that flat tire. Almost.
Went yesterday to check on daughter's glasses status ordered a week prior. Two women were there helping two people and myself and two others were waiting, I believe we all had taken numbers.... well after the older woman finished she turns and instead of asking for ## she says "I dunno who's next" I thought I was and found another was well neither women liked that and the younger one decided to take a negative stance with my daughter and myself... very rushed and rudely stated they were shipped and turned her back to us. Just rude behavior!! I will not recommend this Costco optical period
