Great experience. The staff here are all friendly and professional. Dr Ha is very efficient and courteous. She takes time to explain eye care and her recommendations. The Costco glasses department next to the clinic is also excellent. Jelyn especially was very sweet and patient. Thanks again!

This review is for Dr. Ha’s independent optometry practice only, not the optical department. The optical people are always great. Similar to the review below, I had a disappointing experience with rude customer service from the receptionist. I was put on hold for almost 15 minutes, and when they came on, there was no apology for the wait; all I wanted was my prescription but they spend a lot of time being unprofessional and circular on the phone, solved no problems, finally said they would take my contact info to email me the script, and abruptly hung up. The script did not get sent; I left an angry voicemail about how insulting they were over the phone, and how I was treated and how the script was still not sent. Then the next day I get a call from some other medical staff personnel, saying that they did not even have a consent on file to send me my digital script, so we basically had to redo the work today. Additionally they try to defend themselves by revealing they actually recorded our call yesterday, which was even more atrocious that they did not get any consent from me before doing so. What a waste of time. I will not be going back here, which is sad considering I’ve also been a long time customer. I was treated like a villain after all these years of going back to her. At the very least, an apology was owed, but it is obvious they do not value their customers or try to retain business. Don’t go here; there are plenty of better practices that treat you and your money well.
Today I had a wonderful experience. After being dissatisfied at my own optometrist office, I came here to order new glasses. Olivia was professional and thorough. She also was very kind and patient and answered my questions. She was very efficient, but also took the time to help me when needed. She made the whole experience very pleasant! Thank you!
I went in with my sister today to help her pick out glasses and we had a very negative experience. It was our first time visiting the optical center so we weren’t familiar with the processes there. When we approached the counter an employee Jennifer very rudely asked us if we had gotten a number yet. My sister wasn’t sure what she meant and asked if she meant the number on the frames to which Jennifer responded by mocking her and stating “um no not the frames, the number over there!” in a very condescending tone of voice. She then turned away to aggressively grab a ticket for us but we were so uncomfortable that my sister decided that the glasses weren’t worth being treated this way. I share this experience because I get customer service jobs can be very exhausting but I don’t understand making your burnout someone else’s problem by being unnecessarily mean. Especially to someone who was being decent and was just trying to get a pair of glasses that they liked. Would recommend going elsewhere.
The worst service I’ve ever had. Dr. Ha at Costco Tumwater optical was rude, presumptuous, and very disrespectful when we arrived and was asked about our insurance for our appointment today. I called ahead of time to get an appointment for myself and my husband and asked if they took our insurance and the receptionist said they did and that we were on file as we had been there before. When we got there the receptionist said they did not take delta vision and we could pay out of pocket. Then Dr. Ha came in and said they hadn’t accepted Delta vision in 30 years..and therefore, I must have called the glasses department, not them..that’s not possible, I couldn’t have made me an appointment in the glasses department, I had to of called them to get my appointment time, so that made no sense, and they’re the only department I spoke to.. so I said, yes, I did call you to check to see if you accepted our insurance, and you said you did. We then told them that I also had United Health Care (we were willing to just have my eyes examined and schedule my husband w/ a delta provider, no big deal.) but then Dr. Ha immediately says they’ll have to check if I have the right kind of United Healthcare..well, again I called you and u said u took both United and Delta insurances and my United insurance had already been used and covered my previous appointment. At this point I was frustrated and said, you already said u accepted my insurance. Dr. Ha was sure that we did NOT call to check our insurance “because again she stated they had not accepted Delta in 30 years” I left and Dr. ha told the receptionist in front of my husband to make sure she notated that I was not allowed back to Costco Optical. The fact that she didn’t just say “we are sorry for the misunderstanding, but we can’t take Delta” and then let’s just make sure your new United is covered..instead Dr Ha spoke rudely to us, did not treat us like returning customers, was accusatory and entitled to think she knew exactly what went on in the conversation I had on the phone w/ the receptionist 3 days prior telling me our insurance was accepted. I am 61 years old and was not going to make a 2 1/2 hour drive round trip and not know if my appointment was covered by insurance, so yes, I absolutely verified our insurance was covered and either the receptionist didn’t know or just made an error..again, that’s not the problem..mistakes happen. Dr. Ha does not have to worry about banning me from Costco optical, I will never go back and I would tell anyone looking for an eye appointment, “do not go to Dr. Ha.” And no one should be made to feel less than and certainly not banned from a business because of a possible misunderstanding.
