A dismissive man did my eye exam one year ago this time. I remember that I was asking definitions of different terms and what could be the best combination for my glasses, he was very dismissive and rude with my question, as if I shouldn’t say anything or ask anything as a customer. I don’t believe this is the way to treat people, even if im not a customer. It frightens me so much that i would never ever want to do another eye exam again at Costco optics. I heard from other people also have terrible experience with this person, and I think his position here should be questioned.

I waited over an hour past my scheduled appointment time because the boss's son came in and skipped ahead of everyone in line. When it was finally supposed to be my turn, they grabbed the wrong chart and allowed the person behind me to go ahead instead. No apology or acknowledgment was given for this mistake. Later, when the doctor called yet another patient who arrived after me, I decided to speak up and let her know how long I had been waiting. Her response was shocking—she dismissed my concerns, saying, “We’re really behind. Please feel free to reschedule,” with no apology or compassion for the delays. The complete lack of professionalism and empathy from this so-called doctor was appalling. The staff was equally disappointing, failing to keep me informed about the delays. I had to follow up repeatedly, and it was clear they didn’t care about their customers. This facility is disorganized, unprofessional, and utterly lacking in basic customer service. If I could give them zero stars, I would. I regret not reading reviews beforehand, and I strongly urge others to avoid making the same mistake. Do not give this place your business—they don’t deserve it.
Declined to do the “Photomap” for $75 as I’d just had one at my ophthalmologist’s office as part of my medical visit. The form DID NOT say the “Photomap” was necessary, BTW. The optometrist had me read the top line of letters on the wall, then the bottom line and proceeded to tell me—in so many words—he needed me to do the $75 photomap for him to ‘properly’ do the exam. Otherwise the exam would consist of changing out lenses, asking, “Is 1 better or 2?” Even his attitude was bored/dismissive.” Additionally, he could not see my prior records as they just installed a new system. Sadly, between his arrogance, attitude and none of my prior visits/exams available, I left without a prescription and will never return for HIS services. (The woman that was there before him was GREAT.) The optical department (for glasses and frames)has always been helpful and their selection/prices reasonable. I’ll get my eye exam done elsewhere. But I left there asking myself, “What just happened ?” So odd. Score is -0⭐️
I had an upsetting experience at this location that I feel compelled to share. As a 20-something Asian woman, I was browsing optical frames with my ESA (Emotional Support Animal) when an older Asian man—who was not with me—accidentally spilled something and walked away. An employee at the optical counter then turned to me and asked what had spilled, implying that my dog may have had an accident. I clarified that I didn’t know what happened and that my dog had not done anything. Despite my response, she loudly said, “I’m not cleaning up after someone else’s pet,” making the assumption—presumably based on race—that the man was with me. Her tone and volume drew unnecessary attention from everyone in the store, making the situation both embarrassing and upsetting. My ESA is fully trained and would have alerted me if he needed to go out. This interaction was not only unprofessional but felt racially charged and dismissive. I reported the incident, but unfortunately, no action was taken. The staff at the optical counter—mostly older women—came across as bitter, unapproachable, and lacking in basic customer service and sensitivity training. I would not recommend this location to others, especially if you expect to be treated with respect. Incident, date July 9th 2025, Time 3:45pm Employee- ponytail, glasses, white and blue striped top. Tan Ethnic in color.
The optometry department never answers the phone calls. I left them couple of voice messages and did not get a call back.
