I made an appointment for a regular eye exam and today was the first time visiting this facility. The doctor and the entire staffs were extremely cordial and attentive. I've been to other larger facilities where the service is a lot more rush and less personable which made my experience at Creston Optical a lot more enjoyable. I'd highly recommend this facility.

Making an appointment is easy and picking up contacts is convenient. The frame selection was a bit limited in my opinion. I was unable to keep my first appointment because my insurance coverage got delayed, but they were understanding and gave me a few pairs of contacts to hold me over - super happy with the service. If they’re closed on a certain day, you can still pickup contacts/frames from the doorman if you request in advance.
I had my first pair of glasses made at Creston Optical about 8 years ago and have gone back to them ever since. They are an old-school, customer-friendly optical shop, and are great at finding the right frames for you. When I needed to switch contact lens brands, they worked with me patiently for weeks (and at no additional charge) to make sure I found the best brand of lenses for me. The Manhattan store is in a high-rise building, and because it's not a fancy storefront, I think this allows them to pass some savings onto customers -- I've found their prices for frames to be noticeably less than other optical stores in the neighborhood. I highly recommend Creston Optical!
We were traveling to NYC for the day and my daughter's contact ripped and we didn't have spares. Creston was wonderful! They helped us out right off the street and literally saved our day! Highly recommend!
I've come here for 4 years and have worked with some great friendly staff. Quiet waiting room with nice music too. Not crowded each time I've come. They're flexible, e.g., if you need intermediary contacts before your order comes in, they can help. They've also adjusted nosepads for glasses easily + freely. I'd recommend speaking up clearly about how your vision is so the doctor can make clear recommendations. For example, when I didn't speak up about a brand only seeming to work well "in the dark room where we do the eye exam", I almost got continued poor contacts. Instead, I got a nice new brand recommendation that was a drastic improvement.
