I had a very disappointing experience with Croton Vision Center and will not be returning. My main issue was the lack of transparency regarding a $100 contact lens fitting fee. At no point before the service was I clearly informed that this would be an out-of-pocket charge. I later confirmed with my insurance company that my contact lens fitting benefits were still available, which directly contradicted what the office later claimed in writing. The communication from the office was also highly unprofessional. During a phone conversation, the doctor/owner repeatedly interrupted me while I was trying to clarify information and spoke in a very condescending manner. When I asked to speak with a supervisor, the front desk refused and told me that the owner had left instructions that he would “deal with me directly.” That approach made it impossible to resolve concerns through normal channels. To make matters worse, after terminating me as a patient, I requested my medical records for future care and they were never sent. Patients deserve clear communication about charges, respectful treatment, and proper access to their own medical records. Unfortunately, I did not receive any of those here.
