Okay. Dr. Vorster… he’s The One. ♥️ Flabbergasted, in the best way. It took over 6 years to find an eye doctor who truly listened and knew what to look for. Dr. Vorster at Doctor’s Eye Center in Silsbee didn’t just help me… he may have saved my eyes. For years, I’ve been dealing with dryness, inflammation, and severe chronic upper eyelid swelling that made my eyes look barely open. It affected my confidence so much that I avoided leaving the house and social situations altogether. I saw multiple doctors. One said allergies. Another tested me for myasthenia gravis, which came back negative. After that, it was brushed off as allergies again, with no deeper investigation. I originally came to this clinic for my son’s ongoing issues, and I noticed equipment I had never seen before. That alone caught my attention. From my own research, I suspected I might have meibomian gland dysfunction, and when I learned they could actually evaluate and treat it properly, I made an appointment. Finally… answers. And a real plan. After all these years, I found the doctor who didn’t rush, didn’t dismiss, and didn’t guess. The one who puts on his Albert Einstein hat and actually solves the problem like it’s his own personal m=mc². Because of him, we now know I have a form of Demodex mites affecting my upper eyelids, damaging my oil glands and causing everything I’ve been dealing with. Some glands in my left eye are already lost, but now we have a chance to save the rest. At this point, I picture Dr. Vorster like a knight stepping in, except instead of a sword, he’s holding a slit lamp and a diagnosis. And for the first time, I feel hopeful. We’re finally treating the inflammation, the dry eye, and restoring my glands the right way. Thank you to Dr. Vorster and his incredible staff. What you’ve done for me may seem small to others, but it is life-changing for me. Truly, thank you… from the bottom of my heart (and yes, my insurance too).

The staff in the office is exceptionally nice. The office is also beautifully decorated for every season. Not that it makes service better but ambiance makes it pleasant to be there. Dr. Vorster is exceptionally qualified as an eye doctor. He is kind & polite. He does a great job. I have never before had an eye doctor install something in the inner corners of my eyes to help with moisture in dry eyes that I have from an autoimmune disease. He also has machines that can minutely examine the eyes. In all my years I have never seen that before. Usually an optometrist just looks in your eyes with a scope. I have never before experienced such a thorough exam.
