My son has ADHD and a slew of things are extra-challenging for him. I learned about "BVD" and ADHD symptoms overlapping and decided to get him evaluated. After years of trying various therapies, supplements, diets, and parenting techniques I can honestly say that nothing has ever come close to the impact these lenses for BVD have had... and I was pretty skeptical going in. His tics are gone, he can now tolerate physical touch without outburt, he is more calm and receptive, and just seems to have greater access to his brain. There are things he still needs to work on, but I honestly cried with relief at the impact the lenses have had. Worth every penny. (We live about an hour away, but chose Stephey because he seemed so knowledgeable. Happy we made the choice).

In the short amount of time we spent, Dr. Stephey demonstrated how visual stress impacts my ability to function in daily life. Using the unique therapeutic tools he has, he alleviated my visual stress and the profound results were immediate. I started that morning a little stressed rushing to Dr. Stephey's office, got my usual stress headache. He determined some therapeutic lenses would be helpful - mind you, I'm already corrected to 20/20 with my contact lenses in each eye. I tried them in his office and they immediately relieved my headache, relaxed my jaw, centered my balance and cleared my mind. Not an exaggeration - it was wild!

I've been wearing glasses since I was about 5 years old and I have never had such a comprehensive eye exam till now. Dr. Stephey is by far the best eye doctor I've ever been to. I'm excited about my new glass and can't wait to see the difference a real prescription makes. You'd be surprised how much your vision affects your mental state. Dr. Stephey is an eye doctor god. His staff is also absolutely wonderful.

I first started seeing Dr. Stephey many years ago when my family lived in Covina. He is very personable, professional and helpful. He is very knowledgeable and always takes the time to explain things. After moving out of the area and also losing insurance coverage for vision care, our family used other options for several years, but I recently started going back to see Dr. Doug because my vision and prescription are very complicated, and it has only worsened with age. He worked with me on some vision therapy, and helped me get the best corrective lens solution in place for my severe myopia and muscle balance issues. Highly recommended, especially if you have difficult eyes!

I’ve been seeing Dr Stephey off and on for the past few years for double vision. This is the most well informed specialist I have EVER met. He has tons of articles he offers to share. His passion for his patients can’t be compared. There are very few that specialize in this field. I was blessed. His bedside manners are impeccable. He is extremely compassionate and not in it for the money. He takes many insurances. I have Kaiser and it wouldn’t cover the visits so I paid out of pocket. The diagnostic evaluation fee is reasonable. He provided me the vision therapy program and even installed it in my computer. I was able to get overlays for my eye strain. He didn’t charge me anything for that. I was able to text this doctor directly. Very few specialists do this. This Doctor is God sent. For those who struggle with vision and academics, he is THE specialist. He’s well versed with IEP and the bureaucracy of the school system. He will fight tooth and nail to get the student what they deserve. Appointments are not hard to get. Just make sure to be on time. He’s fully booked and has patients back to back.
