I will not recommend. This is my opinion. I had been going to him for many years and he would not tell me that surgery would help my eyes. My vision was getting worse and worse. I was even considered legally blind. Not once did he even suggest surgery to help. For over 20 years. However I was blessed by going to a new doctor. I had surgery and now I only need glasses to read and I am so blessed. His staff is great. As for the doctor himself , he's only good for reading glasses.

I have been going to Dr Boardson for several years for exams and glasses. I was having problems with my eyes wanting to cross and bad headaches when I started to need bifocals. He added prisms to my lenses and this corrected the problem and actually made my eyes stronger. Other doctors wouldn't even do an exam on me unless I had an MRI of my head done first!! This past week, Dr Boardson actually took out the prism as he feels my eyes are improved enough that I no longer need this. My frames are super cute and I've never had a problem with cheap frames from them.
I really had wanted contacts last year and the optometrist here told me I couldn't unless I got glasses first that "trained my eyes" to focus correctly. I ended up moving before getting those glasses, never went back to any optometrist until last week. I wore my old glasses that whole time. So tell me why I walked out of my recent appointment with a different optometrist wearing contacts?? The optometrist here lied to me so that I would have to buy both. My new optometrist told me there's no such thing as this guy was talking about. Don't go here. He's a liar and a thief.
Dr. Boardsen has me seeing better than 20/20 and zero eye strain even though I stare at screens all day. He suggested prism lenses to fix my double vision, and now I see in enhanced 3D. Text and colors pop out at me now. If I move out of MO I'll be flying in to see Dr. Boardsen from here on out. To those folks who have a hard time adjusting the prisms, I would recommend going somewhere with a nice view, and spend some time focusing on faraway trees and objects. My eyes adjusted to my new lenses in a couple of hours using that technique.
Have been going to Dr. Boardsen since I was in junior high. Such amazing experiences each time! He always tries to find the best solution to my ever changing eye sight and headaches. The staff make it easy and fun to find new frames each time I go in for a new pair!
