I’ve been wearing prescription eyeglasses since the age of 5-6yrs. Over time I noticed that the independent privately owned eyeglass stores have been disappearing. Unfortunately, they’ve largely been replaced by the chain-stores, the ones you find inside malls or strip-plazas. I tried one of those places once and did not have a good experience. IMHO, you’re lucky if you find somebody who’s knowledgeable or even cares about your eyewear needs when you visit one of those stores. I went to Owen’s Optical for the first time and told Mike (Owner) that I want a frame that is similar to what I already have. Within 5 min, he found 2 frames for me to look at. Both were a very close match and felt great when I tried them on. Mike knows his stuff, is very patient and is just an all around excellent guy. He worked with my insurance and I ended up purchasing a new pair of glasses at a very reasonable price. If you live anywhere in the River Region and have any sort of eyeglass needs (prescription, luxury sunglasses, sports goggles, whatever), I would definitely stop by and speak to Mike, or at least give him a call. My only regret is that I didn’t visit Owen’s years ago. Thanks Owen’s Optical!!!

I’d like to give 10 stars. If you're looking for THE BEST eye care, look no further than Owens Optical! I drive across town specifically for this clinic because the experience, service, and expertise are simply unmatched. Having worn contacts for over 20 years, I’ve visited a variety of chain eye care clinics, but none have left me as satisfied as Owens Optical. Recently, I faced a concerning issue with a red, light-sensitive eye. Understandably, I was anxious about what the diagnosis might be. However, the staff’s calming presence and professionalism immediately put me at ease.What stood out was the personalized care; the doctor even took the time to put both of my contacts back in…something I’ve never experienced before! They are efficient with the time and care. No long wait times, and I felt like I was their only customer. They have earned my loyalty, and I wholeheartedly recommend them to anyone in need of eye care. You won’t regret your decision to visit.

A great customer experience. The last few eye exams I have had weren’t the best and both of my glasses and contacts were a little blurry. I decided to go to Owen’s Optical this time and I can finally see again. They dialed my eye prescription perfectly. My wife also loves my new glasses and I am so happy to be able to see again.

Mike, at Owens Optical, has been taking very good care of me for going on 15 years now. He's always going above and beyond to ensure I have what I need to see my way clearly. If you need an emergency fix, he is on it in a blink. He doesn't price gouge anyone... period! He's always reasonable, and when he knows you're a repeat customer. He makes sure you have what you need at a price you can afford. He's saved me in many a pinch and sometimes has no idea I'm about to run in and out him on the spot to save the day. What I do know... He's sincere, he's honest, and he's always willing to do whatever he can to help you. He's earned my trust and my business. I highly recommend Owen's Optical for all your prescription eyewear (glasses, sunglasses, and contacts) needs.

It’s not every day that you come across a place like this. My elderly Mom fell and was in the hospital asking for her glasses that were broken during her fall. I had called her eye doctor (ITEC) about getting a replacement pair but even when I told them she was in the hospital on a feeding tube, I was rather rudely told she had not been there in a year and a half and would need to come in for an exam. The lady who answered the phone actually hung up on me! When I walked into Owens Optical, I was prepared to have to plead my case for not bringing her in for an exam, but the sweetest man stopped what he was doing and spent a good while trying to find a frame that would work for her old lenses. He found a frame that worked and put her old lenses in them. I was very pleased with them. I went for my wallet to pay but he wouldn’t let me. He said it was Christmas time. It was the sweetest thing ever. My mom died two days later. I will never forget the kindness shown to me by Owens Optical.
