Dr Matthew S Oppegaard

After leaving the ER and the hospital for 2 weeks (9/20/25), my brain and spine had terrible brain and spine lesions. Among many problems, my eyes were the worst. I've been in so many eye doctors for other issues, but it has NEVER ended well. I found Dr Oppegaard on my insurance list, and even though I had to cross the bridge and pay toll, I decided to cross to San Rafael. It is a tiny place (office), but following my instinct I stayed. Dr Oppegaard with an unbelievable patience, stayed on my case for about 2 hours. His knowledge and experience showed very much when after 2 weeks I had my glasses and they were PERFECT. Somehow he found how to correct in almost 100% the blurry, cross and double vision issues the brain lessions provoked. Moreover, at first I was afraid after all my issues I was to end with a high bill, thank god I was blessed he was professional and my insurance ended up paying 90% of it. I wish I could send this review to doctors who work with people with MS or any other CNS issue, he is an excellent choice for their patients to alleviate at least one of their sufferings.

By far the worst prescription I have ever had, I think they made a mistake? I can only see things upclose better, I had no problem with that, I can see things from far away worse... there glasses took over a month and a half to get to me so I went elsewhere with the prescription he gave me to order $1800 glasses, absolutely terrible result with the lenses. He told I didn't need to be able to see beyond the third row of the chart during the exam on extremely outdated equipment in a dingy room with storage all over the place. I would suggest going literally anywhere but this place.
