As strange as it may sound, I really like my dentist (and the folks in her office), even though I'm convinced she became a dentist because she enjoys torture. The fine folks at Eye Associates also seem to have a penchant for a little mild torment. They have a whole room dedicated to these little devices custom built to gently annoy you. (I'm sure this is probably how my cat feels about me too). That said, I really like the folks here too. Dr Baker is great and super relaxed to work with, and Beau was not only helpful, he was kind and supportive as well. But the stand out here... the one you really need to know about... is Bayle. Let's pause for a moment and center ourselves here... She's the one. I spent the whole day looking for the right pair of glasses all across town. Within about 30 seconds, she had two pairs in my hands that I couldn't decide between. She understood the assignment. And not only did she know how to pick a pair of specs, she helped me look for the right size, color, adjustment, everything. She went out of her way to try and track down other options from across the galaxy to make sure I got just what I wanted. Now, I only interacted with her in the office, related to my glasses, so some of this may be speculation, but I assume she also has impeccable taste when it comes to ice cream. I can't say this for certain, but I imagine she is also a safe driver, the kind with her hands at 10 and 2 and perfect posture. She probably has a couch that is not only super comfortable, but a pleasing design. Bayle really does give off that cool vibe of someone that knows how to pronounce Worcestershire and does so with ease. And you'd be hard pressed to convince me that she isn't at least a competent Bassoonist as well. Bayle was awesome to work with; she easily made me smile and I'm stoked to get my new glasses. If you do go see her, ask if she wears socks when she sleeps, I bet she does. Not to keep her feet warm, but because it's the perfect balance of comfort and being prepared.
