This rating is purely for reception/admin. Booked my appointment over one month in advance. When I tried to check in online, multiple pieces of information were incorrectly entered so needed to call in to remediate. When I showed up for my appointment, the receptionist said they tried calling and left a voicemail that morning that they don’t take my insurance. No call or voicemail record on my phone. When I explained that their website said they accepted my insurance, I was told there is only one provider who accepts it (not the provider I was booked with). As someone who works in healthcare, I know this is all completely avoidable and was a huge waste of my time.

Multiple bad experiences that took up way too much of my time. I got to the pharmacy and learned that the office didn’t provide sufficient information to the pharmacy, which meant that my prescription couldn’t be filled until Eye Consultants responded to the pharmay’s request for additional information. Of course, Eye Consultants proceeded not to answer its phone for 40 minutes. Ridiculous. The doctor who treated me was fine, but the receptionist was rude and the wait was long (about 40 minutes). The receptionist took off her face mask when she was not sitting at the front desk, which is dangerous because COVID-19 droplets can remain in the air for up to 3 hours. This is especially concerning because the office is inside Piedmont Hospital and there are signs everywhere that face masks must be worn. Overall, I would not recommend this office.
I was at the Piedmont hospital location with my daughter. Despite the signs all over the lobby requiring patients to wear masks for the duration of their appointment, the lady checking in patients at the front desk did not have a mask on (and was very rude!). Clearly, keeping patients safe is not a priority. If you are high risk for COVID-19, you should go to another office.
The Dr and Nurse was GREAT!!!!!! However, the receptionist is HORRIBLE. That attitude and rude personality is not becoming. When making the appointment on the phone she was direct, I felt rushed and as if I was an inconvenience. I let that go because I understand one can get overwhelmed or busy. But when I came to check in, she saw me stand in front of the window and continued her PERSONAL conversation with the nurse for about 30 seconds. NOTHING work related. After she was done, THEN she said, "NAME". So I responded, "GOOD MORNING". She then rolled her eyes, typed something in the computer and then got up and walked away. Maybe to blow off steam. I don't know. Then she came back, and told me to have a seat. I've NEVER seen such poor customer service at a Dr's office before. Apparently, no concern or value for her job. That experience alone will have me seek Healthcare. Elsewhere.
I had been a patient there for over 6 years, then they decided they don't want to support patients that use Affordable Care Act insurance so they waited until my appointment to tell me either I have to pay out of my own pocket or find a new doctor. Then they handed me bills from not only last year but from 3 years ago and said they would need me to pay the left over amount after the insurance paid. They also said they had a glitch in their system that caused them not to notice the bill amount due until 3 years later. The insurance quoted them an adjusted amount so instead of accepting that they tried charging me the difference. Their shady practices have never been more clear. anyone that comes at you with a bill after 3 years is beyond shady and disgusting but to also wait until my appointment to tell me I need to find a new specialist is despicable.
