Wonderful doctor. Explained everything he was doing and asked my opinion on whether I wanted a new prescription or ok with the current one I had since I only needed a bit of adjustment. Very happy with Dr Leak Also, the entire staff is great! I am sorry I forgot to add the team!

Dr. Kevin Riedel was exceptional. He took the time to listen attentively and thoroughly address my concerns, which made me feel valued as a patient. The staff were equally friendly, professional, and efficient. The level of care I received was outstanding, and I left feeling confident and well taken care of. I highly recommend this office.
I would like to preface by saying, I almost NEVER leave reviews, and even then it’s usually only to praise someone & the service provided. I am giving them two stars for being accommodating when I was late for my appointment & still fitting me in, and the technician who did the exam was very nice. The rest of my experience was not great. After the eye exam was done & I was given drops to dilate my eyes, I waited in the room with the lights on and door wide open.. that felt very unusual as that was never my experience previously when having eye exams. I understand having to wait because your eyes need time to dilate, but it felt like I was waiting for a very long time. Finally the Doctor (Ian Danford, MD) came in, he gave the usual standard pleasantries. He did make a note in my chart because for some reason there was a diagnosis for something I have never been diagnosed with. He looked at my eyes with the different tools and lights and told me that my eyes looked good & recommended I continue with annual visits. He handed me my prescription & a card with their prices and sent me on my way. None of the other concerns I had (and mentioned & saw the technician put in my chart) were even addressed by him. I felt very rushed and dismissed, so I left. I was going over my prescription & comparing it to one I had received a month ago & for the most part everything seemed normal, except for their was a -1.75 diopter difference in my right eye astigmatism, in just over 30 days … that seems very concerning. I called the clinic back to ask for them to have me come back in for a refraction/recheck. The lady on the phone was a bit harsh & at one point told me that I shouldn’t have an adjustment period to my new glasses at all, I should just put them on and see clearly. I have worn glasses since I was 5 years old, I am 23 now, I have always had an astigmatism & a decently strong prescription, I have ALWAYS had an adjustment period for new glasses. I was eventually transferred to their triage department & was told that it was only a “slight” change (I completely disagree that an almost -2 diopter change in ~30 days is a “slight” change). I very simply wanted them to just check again, maybe it was an error or it is correct, but I don’t want to spend upwards of $170 on a pair of glasses that don’t work for me. She suggested I go back to the place I went to a month ago with the new prescription and tell them to fix it. I truly don’t understand why they couldn’t just have me come back in & recheck, since I had my appointment with them yesterday (and this phone call took place yesterday). She was a bit rude towards the end of the call & hung up without saying goodbye or anything. I can admit, I was getting frustrated at this point and may have had a bit of a tone change, but I tried my best to remain polite & don’t think my slight change in tone deserved a rude response. I have (unfortunately) been coming to EyeHealth NW since I was a child, because that’s what my insurance covers, but I have very often felt dissatisfied with the service I receive & this feels like the nail in the coffin for me.
I had a great experience at this office. The professionalism and quality of service from the office staff, technicians and the doctor was excellent. Dr Brian Leak is knowledgeable and friendly. He explained my situation very clearly and provided good information about advances is eye health. Happy to recommend this office.
I've seen Dr. Jason Skalet at Eye Health NW for several years. I'm really happy about the new Clackamas location, as it's much closer to me than the Oregon City clinic, where Dr. Skalet also sees patients. Dr. Skalet is outstanding. He's thorough, and he answers and explains any question you may have. The staff at the new Clackamas clinic are excellent. I especially appreciate Savannah and Gau, who worked with me at my recent appointment. If you're looking for great eye care, Dr. Skalet is the doctor you want to see.
