Eye Physicians

I chose this office after calling to make sure they saw patients who required medical eye care without surgery. The staff is friendly and courteous, and Dr. Lembach is professional and knowledgeable. Unfortunately, while its easy to get an appointment, the wait times when in the office are terrible. From the time of arrival/appointment time is only a few minutes, which is great. However, my experience over the last two years, about 5-6 appointments, is that it takes 30+ minutes from getting into a room to see the doctor. Each time I have asked the staff why the wait is so long, and each time I'm told the doctor will be in shortly. The last time I went, just a few weeks ago, I had an appointment at 9:00 and hadn't seen the doctor by 10:08. There was another man there with a 9:10 (I think) appointment, waiting, who hadn't even been into a room at all by 10:08. I have never walked out of a doctor's office before, but I did this time. I even apologized for walking out! I understand short waits are inevitable, but I can't continue to go to an office where my time is not respected. I have since found another doctor who saw me quickly and respected my time.

My experience at Arena Eye Surgeons in Delaware was superior. I was meet by a friendly and caring front desk lady; she joked with me which I truly appreciated. The ease of checking in was simple and the wait time was appropriate. Each person i encountered was professional and friendly; their attitudes put me at ease. I felt like a part of the family, people I could trust with my well-being. Dr. Kirkland was efficient and thorough and gentle. Her nurse and she run like a well oiled machine, with kindness. The young lady who did all the preliminary work was a delight; she really put me at ease. She was professional and thorough as well. The young man who walked me from place to place was also forthcoming and professional. I cannot encourage others enough to make Arena Eye Surgeons in Delaware their choice for first rate service with love and care.

I really had a great experience at Arena Eye Surgeons. As soon as I entered the practice I was welcomed warmly, everthing was ready and, after a short wait I met Laura who was great. She gave me a thorough eye test and answered all my questions kindly, I felt very comfortable. When I was taken to see Dr. Bowers, he was friendly and kind, he patiently listened attentively to my fears and questions and was able to put me at ease. The lady who made sure I had an appointment for next year was very kin and pleasant. I have no reservations in recommending them wholeheartedly.

I love my doctor, Wendy Kirkland. I trust her implicitly! She did my Cataract & Glaucoma surgery a few years ago and is helping me keep my sight. She really knows her field. I recommend her to anyone that needs an eye specialist. Dr Kirkland sees me every 4-6 months to ensure my glaucoma pressure stays within the normal range. Recently, it was getting harder to see things clearly. In fact, I could not even read the top line on the eye chart. Dr Kirkland told me that i was getting a film on my lenses, but she could get rid of it with a laser. After approval from my insurance she was able to do the laser right there in her office! It was done in just a few minutes. When I went back for my post op appointment, my vision was right back to where it was before the film was on my lenses. Thank you Dr Kirkland!

This is an amazing practice. Everyone is friendly. Everything is explained carefully and in detail. Dr Kirkland is fantastic! I would recommend the Arena Eye Surgeons to everyone.
