I’m shocked this place has a 4.9 rating. These days, you can’t always rely on reviews, but like many others, I assumed a high rating meant it would be a great fit for a first time customer. I was wrong!
First, the optical store is intensely bright, with lighting so harsh it’s almost sickening. There’s no warmth or depth. It felt like I was in an operating room about to be prepped for surgery, or in a dentist’s office that no one actually wants to be in. Jacqueline was friendly, but friendliness only goes so far. I decided to try them out for convenience of location.
I was happy with the tint she helped me pick, but what I was not okay with was noticing a very noticeable crack at the edge of the lens when I picked up my item. I had already paid in full, and thankfully saved my receipt. I mentioned the crack to her, and she attempted to buff it out while continuing to deny it was a crack. After unsuccessfully trying to “buff it out,” she still didn’t acknowledge that it was their mistake!
As a first time customer, I expected honesty and accountability for something completely their fault. Instead, all I got was a “sorry, I’ll call you in a couple of days when it’s ready” not even a sincere apology for inconveniencing me to come back a second time.
When I returned to pick up the corrected glasses, the employee, who said her name was Sophie (though not confidently, so maybe she gave me the wrong name), struggled to find my order. I handed her the PRINTED invoice, and she initially was too LAZY to type the invoice number into the computer, asking me , “What do they look like?” Once she finally entered the number, SHOCKER -my glasses were there all along.
Oh, it gets better. Without even checking the system again, Sophie opens her mouth and says I have a balance due. Good thing I saved all my receipts and showed her the balance was already paid. BEFORE SPEAKING, DO YOUR RESEARCH - so you don’t make yourself and the company look dumb!
So not only did they lie to my face about a crack at the edge of the lens, but they also demonstrated COMPLETE incompetence in performing the SIMPLEST tasks. I will definitely not return and will make sure others know not to waste their time here.
NEXT TIME: take accountability, apologize sincerely for your company’s mistakes, rectify the situation, and stop cutting corners in your role
