DO NOT RECOMMEND! DOUBLE BILLING SCAMMERS! Had my appointment in January, my insurance paid “In Full” 2 weeks later. Eye Care center has CONSISTENTLY sent me a bill (higher than what they billed insurance) EVERY MONTH saying they were Never Paid! Which is a LIE. Even after submitting EOB as Proof they were paid, they are claiming it’s false. As a Senior citizen on Social Security and Medicare and fixed income, I believe this is scammish behavior. If I hadn’t checked my EOB I would have paid them double payment! I wonder how many times they have been successfull and how much money they have made off of people? I’m pretty sure they can see in system they were paid as well as from EOB. Upon checking they ARE NOT BBB CREDITED. I will be reporting to NCDOJ, NC Board of Opticians and my Insurance company to take them off list of approved doctors. As I asked around other people have experienced same issue. BUYER BEWARE!

Do Not Recommend. They tried to get double payment. My insurance paid them in full two weeks after service and they turned around and lied and said my insurance denied them and tried to get me to pay them out of pocket. I almost did but decided to double check with insurance company. This is scam behavior. Each time I contacted them they told me insurance denied and asked for a copy of EOB "...to see what insurance company reason for denial.." Which didn't make sense to me. They know most people don't keep EOB's and just takes their word for it to avoid credit reporting but I didn't luckily. I DO NOT RECOMMEND. I have also recommended my insurance company (Medicare Advantage Provider) to get rid of them. They are taking advantage of senior/retired people.
Very unprofessionally run office. I had a great experience with the old Chapel Hill office. But since that office closed and my care was moved to this office, I've had multiple and consecutive years where appointments were cancelled without telling me, billing mistakes, scheduling errors, ... While the care from the doctors has always felt adequate, it just isn't worth having my time wasted.
This company is poorly organized. The doctors are fine as well as the front office staff and I went for a few years to them because I liked the optometrists, but Eye Care Center mismanages their billing. I have insurance and in the office I would pay my copayments, etc. and be told my account was up to date only to be sent text messages from the corporate office saying I owed some obscene amount. I reached out to the local office and they told me not to worry about it, I was up to date and they would take care of it. This happened numerous times. And then come to find out the corporate office sent a bill to collections without providing any documentation to me. I do not write negative reviews normally, but if I can save anyone the hassle and stress that my interactions with Eye Care Center has caused me, I think it is important to let people know.
The visit was fine. After the visit I kept receiving messages about a balance for an item that isn't defined on the bill. It's some generic code with no actual service listed. I paid what I owed when I was in the office. I have called multiple times and can't get a resolution. I stopped by the office and still no resolution.
