I wanted to give this shop every opportunity to make things right before posting this, which is why I waited more than a year. My experience was very disappointing. After the wrong lenses were installed initially, I spent over $1,000 on two relatively simple pairs of glasses and ended up in a long back-and-forth to get the issue corrected. More recently, after having the correct lenses put into one of my frames a few weeks ago, I discovered that the frame appears to be cracked near the lens where the screw gets inserted. I only noticed it when cleaning the glasses because the cloth caught on the damaged area (see screenshot). The glasses had barely been worn since I got them back, which makes this especially frustrating. What concerns me most is not just the damage, but how it was handled. When I raised it with the store, the response was dismissive and I was told that maybe I dropped them, or that this is simply the risk of having lenses inserted into frames not purchased there. I was also left with the impression that because the frames were mine and not under their warranty, they did not feel responsible for flagging or addressing the issue. I also found their handling of the glasses careless overall. On multiple occasions, the glasses were returned to me with fingerprints all over the lenses, including when they were supposedly ready for pickup. I understand that mistakes can happen. What matters is how a business responds when they do. In my case, I did not feel they took responsibility, communicated transparently, or treated my concerns professionally. I had hoped to support a local independent shop, but based on my experience, I would not recommend this business.

My partner and I have both had eye exams and purchased glasses from Eyes On The World. They are professional, courteous, and hyper-focused on customer service. If you're looking for a family-owned and operated practice in New York City, this is the place.
I came here because I had redness of the eye. I was using over the counter eye drops and was told by the doctor that they actually make things worse not better. So I had my eyes checked out and was given a prescription at my local pharmacy. This is my second time coming here. I come yearly and have recommended friends to them because unlike other places, it’s not an optician, but an eye Doctor. A real ophthamatrist, not some run of the mill optician. You get what you pay for. Most insurance accepted. Since I have none, I paid cash and was given a decent price. When my eyes are healthy after 2 weeks, I’m coming back for a new prescription for my eye glasses and a new frame. They have many frames to choose from. I counted 1070 frames. ( I was bored and the doctor was fixing my eyeglass frames for free ) but I was told they have even more frames in the drawers behind the counter. So my guess is about 2.000 frames available at anytime. Plenty of designer frames too.
They were very polite and professional from when I first walked in for my appointment til the end of my appointment, the lady taking care of my insurance was an amazing and friendly person. Thank you great experience will definitely be back!
Absolutely wonderful experience! The team is incredibly professional, welcoming, and knowledgeable, especially Suzanne! She had been the highlight of my eye exams and I always look forward to seeing her! Unlike other places, she takes her time with you and ensures you find the perfect glass frame to fit your face. Moreover, she’s extremely versed in all the healthcare plans and helps you find the best deal/value for your glasses. The optometrist is also extremely thorough and always makes the entire eye exam comfortable and stress-free. I also really appreciated how clean and well-organized the office is. I’ve been to many optometrist over the years and this by far exceeds all of them and is my favorite.if you’re looking for an optometrist don’t sleep on eyes on the world!
