Didn't have to wait long to be seen. Everyone was nice . Dr. Scogin was awesome. He explains everything well. The guy that helped with my frames was great. They do need a larger selection of frames. But overall I would recommend going here.

Dr. Scogin was the best! Took his time and explained all the tests, how they worked and the reasons for having them. Very thorough and told me what I should expect in the future with my eyesight . He’s honest and very trustworthy . Quite the plethora of knowledge!! Front desk/ check in was very friendly, patient and kind. It was my first time at this facility and I was very comfortable and extremely pleased with the service ! A+

Update: Stormie, the office manager, saw my initial 2 star review and called me today. She is an amazing asset to the clinic, as very few people would have taken the time to reach out. Not only did she call and apologize, they have corrected the situation by getting my son an excuse for his missed credit hours, and have addressed staff to keep it from occurring again. I appreciate Stormie handling the situation, and taking the time to call. At this point, between Dr Scogin and Stormie, we will return to Family Eye Care, and put the negative incident behind us. I gave 2 stars because Dr Scogin was great, but the office staff/policies are not. After my child's glasses came in ( that I paid over $800 out of pocket, after insurance) I was told he had to be present to pick them up. On 2 occasions when I called during normal hours, and not during lunch, to see what the latest we could come was, no one answered, and I got a generic voice mail. After we arrived, they literally handed them to him and told him how to clean them. I probably could have relayed that message myself. I asked the front desk for a school excuse, and was told "They" won't let us give a school excuse if you don't see the doctor. I told her that I was told he had to be present to get the glasses, since they were Neurolens. She replied " Well, maybe, but I don't know. But, they won't allow an excuse. Besides, we are open til 5:30, where do you live?" I told her about an hour away, and he gets out of school around 4:10. She says "They" definitely won't let you get a school excuse, you could have just came when he got out. You had plenty of time." I told her to let "They" know that "they" won't get another $800 out of me. I understand now why every other eye clinic was booked up, and they had an immediate appointment when we first went.

I took my 89 year old mother here to get her eyes checked, and the employees couldn’t have been kinder. They were patient and very attentive to her comfort and care. Dr. Scogin was so patient and explained everything to us. I definitely recommend this office!

My family and I have been going to see Dr. Lamar and his team since 2022. The atmosphere is professional yet very welcoming as well. Dr. Lamar is always open to any questions or concerns we may have about our eye care. He is thorough with every exam and takes time to explain everything to us. And that right there is enough for me.
