As a veteran I chose to pay for private care as opposed to the VA which isn't known for speed of service or customer service skills. There was a major disagreement between the office and our family. I went to talk to Dr McClain in person today. I showed him phone records to show we weren't just being difficult he refuted ours but refused to show his evidence of calling. I told him i should have gone to the VA, he agreed and said i should then I explained there was no reason to go now. I'd already paid him for the poor service i could have gotten for free at the VA.After several minutes of talking and not making progress I told him I wished him the best in business and offered my hand to shake. He initially refused which cause me by suprise as I was not violent or aggressive just in disagreement. When I said your really not gonna shake my hand, He then stated he would shake my hand if I didn't touch him anywhere else on his body like I was a deranged violent animal. Luckily I'm not the violent animal he feared me to be. Which really makes me glad this all happened in the front lobby with cameras and not in a private room, because integrity seems to be an issue so who knows what would be said happened.Regardless of our disagreement that tells me everything I needed to know. Then after reading some of the other reviews from veterans it turns out veterans seem to have issues here. SO THIS IS A WARNING TO VETS, READ THE REVIEWS, WE DON'T SEEM TO BE WELL RECEIVED OR WANTED.

If you are looking for a professional and compassionate office, I would highly recommend going here. Everyone in the office is so kind and accommodating. You will truly feel like family! I was in need of as exam and glasses. Tia worked with my schedule, Ashley got me started with my appointment, and Dr. Mcclain did a very thorough job with my exam! My next step was the fun part... getting Shannon and Amanda to help me with my glasses. Both the ladies were so helpful in explaining the different types of frames I would need for computer use and everyday wear. My glasses came in shortly after and Shannon called to have me come in and try them on. She adjusted them and I was out the door! I've had had nothing short of amazing experiences there and would 10/10 recommend them to anyone needing an optometrist!
Had an appointment in the beginning of FEBRUARY was told takes up to 2 weeks sometimes to get them in. Called numerous times and was always told oh they should be here today or end of week. After 2 and a half months I gave up and quit calling. Today APRIL 28TH I get a call saying they are ready and have been calling(that's a lie I attached the phone records) told her I would love to see that as that was not the case first call was this morning shown in call log attached(she can't) was told I have to pick them up ASAP or being sent to collections I told her I'm going out of town today and will not be back until next week just crazy you can take over 3 months but I'm expected to drop everything to pick them up and I've called every 2 weeks until a month ago Shannon's response well why did you stop calling....its not my job to call every 2 weeks to see if my stuff is available its yours to lmk when its ready she then stated I am no longer allowed to get services there and she will just send me to collection I promise you I don't want to come back if this is how you deal with customers I'm trying to figure out a time best for both of us as I do have a life and her only response and option is to ban me and tell me I can just deal with collections... what a joke don't like your job ma'am quit don't work in customer support! I hope your boss finds out how you talk/ deal with customers
Today was my first visit with Dr McClain after seeing my old eye doctor for 20+ years. He was very nice and knowledgeable, and the staff was kind as well. I have already recommended Dr. McClain to a couple of my friends who are also in search of a new eye doctor
*beware* This place is an absolute joke, they do not care about customer service, they lie and say they have tried calling numerous times, (phone records don't lie I called ever week for months) told them if I wanted to be treated like crap I could have done that for free at the va to which the Dr himself replied please do! REAL CLASSY PLACE, I let him know I would be making a Google review of how horrible they treat their customers instead of just owning it "hey, I'm sorry you fell through the cracks" my response would have been "awesome, accidents happen, thanks for letting me know, but instead.....they lie, blame you, and threaten to send you 2 collections. His response.... go for it google doesn't affect me in any way.I don't care! Go at your own risk just know you will be treated as a number not a name, with zero respect!
