This place cares about people, not just their patients. We were on vacation and my son lost his contact. We had no back ups and no glasses either. With a copy of our RX they helped us to get my son what he needed to see well for our remaining vacation. I can’t thank them enough.
I have been a patient here for years but no longer. I have seen a trend that I feel is bordering on bilking insurance with unnecessary repeat visits that accomplish little to nothing. Rushed visits with incomplete screenings and then shoved upfront to pay. The turn over of physicians there is unsettling. I also have grown tired of the revolving door of students whose level of patient care and knowledge are inconsistent. If you have any eye health concerns beyond a simple yearly exam, you should look elsewhere for someone to entrust with your care.
I have been going to Mason Smith for 40 years and have received the best eye care and great service. However I am disappointed the practice has been taken over by Elevated Eye Care and the entire front office staff that knew me by name has been replaced. They took all my insurance info and never informed me they are no longer a VSP preferred provider. Never had a copay- after my annual check up I was informed I owed 50 dollars. Upon paying I was still not informed they were no longer a VSP preferred provider. --Poor staffing Dr. Smith rates 5 stares -staffing 1
Family vision has been my go to for my annual eye exam and new glasses or sunglasses. The staff is always pleasant and answer all of my questions. I drive from West Ashley to Mt Pleasant because the service is that good.
Appointments are always on time. The staff is very knowledgeable and very friendly.
