I started my vision plan at the end of March 2026. I was hoping within the next month or two to be able to afford glasses. I called Saturday to cancel my policy because I could not afford it. The last I spoke with that day was very nice. She told me she'd message them and if I could also call Monday morning. I called when they opened and kept being switched to several different departments. I was then told I needed to send an email to cancel my policy. I told them I'm very sick and taking care of 2 sick children so the guy got his supervisor in the phone to see if she could expedite the process. She asked me why I was canceling. I told her I could not afford it. She asked if I had used any of the benefits. I told her no I couldn't afford to go. She then proceeded to laugh about it. After she she laughed about my situation she said that was very unprofessional. Yeah, you think?! If and when I have the money to ever get insurance again I will NEVER go with this place! It is impossible to cancel a policy and I don't find anything funny that I'm so broke I can't go get glasses.😭

They lost my new employee benefit paperwork, and when I called them twice to try and get a better representative who was more helpful, they both got snarky with me as if it was mine or my HR rep.'s fault that they lost my paperwork. Now I have to start all over again with the registration process. I kindly asked if they could check their email logs since I was provided proof that my HR sent in my paperwork, but they flat out refused. So unnecessarily rude for a mistake they made. Just own up to it and make it right. Jesus Christ. Don't lose it a second time!
Terrible company. Customer service phone line forces you to talk to its BS AI, and then when you try to reach a real person says there is high call volume and hangs up on you. Email customer service copy pastes the same response telling you to call. What special form of hell is this?
WOW, WOW,WOW! Bad experience with VSP's customer service today. What happened? I was provided VSP's corporate contact number to get at information, which ASU alumni's AMBA reseller could not answer. As a wise consumer, I am comparing line by line if what the alumini is offering abut what I currently have is a better plan. Well, VSP's customer agent, I got, could not answer nor provide definitions for terminology. Deflecting and becoming I drank the Kool-Aid attitude towards an already existing customer is just poor customer service and not enjoying my countering. The representative at VSP did not even know about AMBA let alone what it was offering. So in a peanut shell, VSP has become the norm of today's poor service. Useless! Just bodies who answer phones with little to zero resource knowledge of VSP's larger arrangements outside of the Kool-Aid drank.
Awful customer service, if you can even call it that. Their plans and programs appear to be clear and simple but they cover much less than what they promote. When you have a question or dispute against a claim, they refer you to go back to your optometry office. But when you do, the optometry office will refer you back to VSP. It's an endless cycle of ZERO accountability.
