Franklin Zheng MD

I recently (3/25/26) had cataract surgery with Dr. Zheng. I just gotta say Dr Zheng and the entire team were excellent! From the my first appointment through the follow up and every interaction in between was excellent. I especialy appreciated that the team there reached out to me with follow up calls and reminders. I found the overall experience excellent and highly recommend them.

This clinic is extremely misleading and unprofessional. I originally searched for Dr. Ellen Pan and called the number listed online, which redirected me to this office. At no point did they disclose that I would not be seeing Dr. Pan. Instead, they gave me a different address and only told me upon arrival that I would be seeing Dr. Zheng. The staff falsely claimed that Dr. Pan wasn’t working that day, but later admitted that she does not practice at this location at all. This is clearly deceptive and a waste of patients’ time. They also required a $300 cash deposit before I get to see the doctor, refused to accept any other form of payment, and made me wait nearly two hours despite having an appointment. Overall, the entire experience felt dishonest and poorly managed. If you are specifically looking for Dr. Ellen Pan, do not go here! This clinic is misleading and does not operate transparently.

My appointment was at 2:30 PM, got there 2:15 PM. Signed in their appointment sheet. There were already 20+ patients in waiting room. They told me my number will after these 20+ patients have been seen!. But appointment was at 2:30 PM. Why you make an appointment for 2:30 PM when you know there will be 20+ patients on that time. Waited 30 minutes and there were still 18+ patients in room! When complained about this, the receptionist keep asking to first pay $35 as co-payment! What kind of joke is it! Poor service and coordination. Will make formal complaint to NYS health department.

Dr Zheng is an excellent doctor, he is attentive, answers questions and friendly. He is an excellent diagnostician. He has a staff of respectful, friendly, compassionate and most accommodating people.

The team explained every single step with total transparency, personally walked me through all the risks, and made sure multiple times that I was truly ready before moving forward. They didn’t rush anything — in fact, they scheduled several follow-ups beforehand to make sure my eyes were in their best condition before the procedure. On the day of surgery, everything felt smooth, calm, and professional. The staff’s confidence and warmth immediately put me at ease. Waking up and being able to see clearly without glasses still feels surreal. I can’t recommend this practice enough — if you’re considering LASIK, this is the place to do it!
