What can I say that I haven't already said. This facility treats me well. It's always clean and the staff is pleasent, cordial, and inviting. My Dr. is attentive and genuinely interested in my health and progress. Yes, I'd recommend them to friends and family. Additionally, they have an extensive selection of the coolest eyewear, even for the most discerning individual. Guaranteed to level up your eyewear game.

I would like to thank Dr. Rangaraj, Ms. Zahra and all of the Georgia Eye Specialist staff for their outstanding service to me, during the time that I had my light adjustable lens inserted. I really do appreciate all of your expertise in fixing the issues that I had with my eyesight! Regards to all! Donald

The reason for a five star is Zahra who was very patient, sensitive and caring. She would explain things in a way that I could understand. Dr. Rangaraj did my cataract surgery and was very professional in all my follow up visits. I would recommend GA Eye Specialists to my friends.

I specifically sought out this practice because I have a family history of glaucoma and wanted to be evaluated by someone who specializes in diagnosing and managing the disease. I was willing to pay more for the expertise because I wanted confidence that I was getting the right answer. Most of the clinical staff were pleasant, the front desk was not particularly welcoming. The biggest shock came before the appointment even began. I was informed that they do not accept vision insurance because everything is billed through medical insurance. I have excellent vision insurance, but it wasn't applicable here. My out-of-pocket cost ended up being nearly $700. To be clear, I understand that specialists charge more, and I wasn't expecting a routine eye exam price. What I wasn't expecting was to pay almost $700 for testing that felt very similar to what I've had at a regular eye doctor's office, without much explanation about the cost or what made the evaluation different. The physician spent less than 10 minutes with me reviewing the results and gave me great news. Based on all of the testing, I do not have glaucoma and am not currently at risk. That was genuinely a relief, and I appreciated having that peace of mind. However, I asked about getting an updated glasses prescription while I was there and was told that would require an entirely separate appointment because the physician doesn't perform refractions. After paying nearly $700, it was disappointing to learn that even a basic vision prescription wasn't included. Unfortunately, what happened at checkout is what ensured I will never return. The scheduler asked whether I should be scheduled for another visual field test at my annual follow-up. She asked another staff member, who casually responded, "Sure, why not?" and that was enough for them to schedule it. That comment really bothered me. Visual field testing is not inexpensive, and after I had just spent nearly $700, hearing someone say "Sure, why not?" without any discussion of whether it was medically necessary or appropriate for my situation made me feel like these tests were being ordered casually instead of thoughtfully. When I asked whether my next visit would also cost hundreds of dollars and whether vision insurance would apply, no one seemed to know. The person helping me started flipping through a binder trying to find the answer. That didn't inspire confidence. Then I got home and realized I hadn't been given any visit summary, copies of my test results, or any documentation explaining what was done during my visit or what the plan was moving forward. I left with nothing except a significantly lighter wallet. To top it off, I later received another bill for about $5. I'm grateful for the good news that I don't have glaucoma, and I have no complaints about the professionalism of the clinical staff during the testing itself. My frustration is with the overall experience: the lack of transparency regarding costs, the feeling that expensive testing was treated casually, the inability to answer basic billing questions, and leaving without any documentation of my visit. Based on my experience, I won't be returning. There are several glaucoma specialists in the area, and next time I'll choose one that provides more transparency, better communication, and a patient experience that reflects the significant cost of specialty care.
