It was a very good visit. The doctor had a couple of emergencies so I did have to wait a little longer than I expected but it was a blessing to know that she was not one to rush her patients. And I enjoyed some wonderful conversations with some of the other patients. The staff was very nice and friendly. And Dr. Thomas was wonderful. Everything from start to finish was great.

I love Dr. Nguyen she’s so kind and thorough. She explains everything so well. The ladies at the check in and check out desk are so sweet and kind. I don’t know the exact name of the department where we purchase or pick up the glasses but Mrs. Tina and Mrs. Cynthia handled that department with so much professionalism and grace even though they were being slammed yesterday. I’ve been going to Dr. Heitmeier’s office since I was a freshman In high school and I’m 33 years old. Their customer/patient service is beyond excellent and impeccable. I’d recommend everyone to go Dr. Heitmeier’s office.
The staff is kind, efficient and know their purpose for being at work. The assistants are thorough and guide you with verbal and audible instructions so you can stay safe. What a lovely environment. They only give you what you need and not trying to sell you on what you don't need. Try them you won't be disappointed.
Ellen Nguyen is so attentive and listens to you needs closely. She is also very focused on your overall health issues to keep the bigger picture in view. Highly recommended her for your vision care!
On Wednesday, April 22, 2026, at around 9:00 a.m., I encountered an ignorant Black employee at your establishment when I came to pick up my bifocal eyeglasses. I wrote my name in the register and remained in the waiting area waiting to be called. This employee was comfortable calling the people with so called American sounding names but refused to call my name because it sounded and looked foreign. Instead of calling my name, this lady with prejudice in her heart decided to look around, trying to link my name with the people in the waiting area. However, when she failed at that, she made a loud statement: "Who is the person with the first name that starts with a K?" Immediately, I stood up and walked toward her and asked her why she refused to call my name and said that it was discriminatory and racist. Instead of being remorseful and apologetic, she went on to further make fun of my name by pronouncing different variations of it, further amplifying her racism and prejudice. This was not the first incident. The first incident happened exactly a year ago at the same eyewear pickup area of your establishment, but this time, it was done by a white woman. It is clear that your employees, white or Black, tend to be racist and condescending to patients they perceive to be foreign. I can say for a fact that these people have and would continue to discriminate against your patients based on their perceived national origins and names. One of your doctors, Dr. Thomas also tried to link the redness of my eyes that arose from allergies to the fact that I was not born in the United States, despite not having any knowledge about my history with allergies. She was condescending and jumped to conclusions about my US citizenship because of my name and English accent. It is a disgrace that your clinic has employed healthcare providers with racist tendencies toward Black Africans. If you want to practice as a healthcare provider in the US, you should be prepared to serve a diverse patient population. These women were racist, condescending, and prejudiced toward me just for being a Black African with an African name. At the end of the day, they messed up my eyeglasses. They ended up giving me bifocal eyeglasses that would not allow me to see far, despite records showing that I can not see things that are far away. I have been back to your establishment twice to complain about my glasses, and they have had my glasses for over a week after I paid $160. Your establishment has to do better and train your employees by reminding them that racism and discrimination have no place in healthcare.
