Heltsley Eye Care

Great experience and people. They made room in their schedule the same day for my emergency need and didn't hesitate to deliver excellent, joyful care. This was my first visit and it was out-of-town for me. They did such a great job, I scheduled another visit for a regular annual eye exam.

The auto dialer that calls you to confirm your appt cancelled my appt so I had to be rescheduled. Staff was nice, Dr very good and thorough. This office does not have standard progressive lenses available so be prepared to pay an uncharge for progressive lenses. Went to pick up my completed glasses and the frames looked very different. I was told that this frame was what I picked out. I went to the display and grabbed the set I ordered. The colors were different enough that I didn't want the ones the lab sent. The offer was made ti swap the frames there but she was unable to do that so back to the lab they went to get swapped. Not the greatest experience.

We love Dr. Heltsley’s office. Everyone is extremely friendly, great atmosphere and Dr, Heltsley’s eye exams are always very thorough. You feel welcome from the time you walk in the door, you are not just a number to them.

This was the first year I switched eye doctors. Since having my Lasix surgery I never felt the need to see an eye physician until I began having problems reading and some distance impairment. First time experience there. The staff was kind but the doctor didnt seem like a people person. I explained my situation. I picked out a pair of reading glasses. 2 weeks later I called them myself to see if the glasses were in and they said, "yes, they've been there." I explained I never received a phone call stating they were there or I wouldve picked them up sooner. Later that day, I picked them up. After wearing them for almost 2 weeks, I felt that they werent my correct prescription. I couldnt see out of them when reading my reports, books, etc. It always looked blurry but I thought my eyes needed time to adjust to them. When I called back to report the issue, they said to bring them in and the dr would look over them. I explained I wasnt happy with my purchase. So I made an hour trip back to their office and returned the glasses but they didnt issue a refund. No one was in the lobby and there werent any cars in the parking lot and the staff said the dr was busy. I left the glasses I had purchased with the staff asking them to have the dr return my call. A week later, I called them back and the staff are stating the dr is still "busy with a patient". No refund has been issued to me. I will never recommend this place!

From the time that I checked in until the time I checked out, I was greeted with a smile, I felt welcomed, treated with respect. I recommend anyone who is looking for an Optometrist to go to Heltsley Eye Care. I truly enjoyed my experience during my visit with Dr. Heltsley and his wonderful staff.
