I went in on June 12th for an exam. I picked out glasses and I paid an extra $115 for a contact exam. After paying for the contact exam I was told I couldn’t get a copy of my exam. Excuse me I paid out of pocket for this and I can’t get a copy. They refused and said it was their policy. I ordered glasses on this day and it’s been over three weeks with no phone call about the glasses or anything. This is by far the worst experience I’ve had with a Hersolf office.

I would give them 0 stars if possible. Call and leave messages and they do not even have the courtesy to return your call. I have been waiting over 2 weeks just to have new lenses installed into my safety glass frames. When I dropped them off she acted as if one week was all that would be needed. When I got back from vacation and called to see if they were ready she then said 3 to 5 weeks. She wouldn't even call the lab to see if they could do anything on delivery. Poor customer service. I went and ordered a pair of prescription sunglasses on line and had them shipped to my home in 4 days. I do not understand the delay and they seem to care less! Update 24 days and still no glasses. They called 2 weeks after they had the glasses and said they needed $12 to proceed. Paid that and the lady said I would have them in 3 to 4 business days. That was 9 business days ago. Avoid this place at all cost. Nothing but lies!

I called to try to get my contact prescription information and found out that I paid for my contact examination for nothing since the doctor NEVER finalized my contact prescription. Therefore, they can't give me that information. That doctor is leaving and is fully booked for his last days working here, and they said I would have to RESCHEDULE a new appointment with them and REPAY them more money for my new examination. Non-refundable and non-transferrable, are you kidding me??? Just because I said the contact was a bit drying (I already said they worked fine since it's the same brand I've always used) and they never said for me to come back to finalize ANYTHING! I am appalled and very disappointed with this place taking my money and can't even give me my contact prescription information. AVOID AT ALL COST! Listen to all the reviews!! This place is a SCAM!! They were all right and I thought I was one of the lucky ones from my first experience with them. They were fine with me with my examinations and interactions, but messed me up at the end. EDIT: Called Herslof Optical Corporate customer service line and they can't do anything for me either. I asked to be transferred to their supervisor and the supervisor IGNORED my call. This whole company is a SCAM!! Money hungry scammers!! If they want me to remove this review, they need to call me back and give me a refund. OTHERWISE EVERYONE NEEDS TO GO ELSEWHERE! Do not get scammed!!

I wanted to discuss my options with the doctor at Herslof who performed my eye exam. He basically shushed me, as he was busy with the exam. Now, I don't let personality determine my service rating if I get quality service. But I was sidetracked with the questions that I had. Furthermore, he never asked me questions that would have been important in deciding which contact lenses would be best for me. In fact, he never asked me any questions at all. Contact lenses were ordered for me, and after doing research on my own, I discovered that scleral lenses may be my best option, as I had undergone RK corrective surgery 29 years ago. When I brought it to their attention, they neither confirmed nor denied my concerns, and they quickly told me that it was too late, I had already signed off, and that the contact lenses should be ready for pickup in 2 weeks. I now have another consultation scheduled at Froedtert, where I should have gone in the first place instead of wasting the 200+ dollars on lenses I may not wear, plus $$ on my exam at Herslof....so that true professionals can help me determine what's the best option for my needs.

Very unprofessional; especially the woman that helps you at the counter. My boyfriend went there because of his insurance and when he went to pick up his glasses, he noticed right away that the nose pieces were not aligned at all. He was told there is nothing that can be done; that is not considered a defect......really? I went back with him last week and he explained the headaches he was getting because the glasses were not sitting properly on his face, they were actually sliding down. She again said that there is nothing the insurance will do which is a damn lie. I had the same insurance he has just a year ago and they WILL REPLACE the frames and actually they replaced my frames and lenses for me and corrected the problem for me with no extra out of pocket charges. This business is very irresponsible and they just do not want to take the time to help their customers. We will be going back again this week as he is having the same issues and if she will not, again submit for a new pair of frames; I, myself will be contacting the BBB. Stopped in yesterday, Tuesday 4/23 afternoon and dealt with the same individual. First, she tells us she could put 'silicone nose pieces" on and that may help. Again, she said this is not a defect but now it is the 3rd time here in less than 2 weeks. She finally said she would ask for a replacement frame but there are no guarantees how that will come in. Fine; she had my boyfriend sign some type of waiver which I should have looked at before he signed but did not. I questioned to make sure there will be no out of pocket cost, she said no. He asked her if she would put the silicone nose pieces on until new frames come in and now she says she doesn't have any; what the hell??? When we got back out to the car, I said to him he should go back in and ask for a copy of what he signed so he has a record of it. Yes, should have thought about that when we were inside but didn't and we were literally 5 steps outside the door. He came back to the car and said that she told him she already sent it through so could not give him a copy. OK, I am a little computer stupid but I do know for a fact that if she faxed or scanned that piece of paper, she still had the original so ANOTHER LIE! In the pictures attached, you can definitely see that the nose pieces are not aligned properly; this was AFTER she bent and tried to move them. Hoping for a good resolution to this matter but with her at the wheel, I highly doubt it.
