I have been a patient at this clinic for about six years. First, the positive side. The administrative staff’s attitude has noticeably improved. The initial admission technician today - whose name I believe is Darrell—and the OCT technician were both professional and provided clear instructions and explanations. Overall, the administrative and medical support staff are significantly better than in previous years. However, there are several concerns. After being called into the examination room, I waited 40 to 45 minutes. While unexpected situations and urgent treatments can occur, patients should be informed of delay. I would also like to express my appreciation to Dr. Shirkey, who has taken care of my eyes for many years and performed excellent surgeries. I am genuinely grateful for her skill and expertise. That said, the amount of time she spends with me during appointments is consistently extremely short—often less than five minutes. This is not limited to today’s visit; it happens every time. She always appears very hurried, and the explanations I receive are minimal, usually limited to general comments such as “looks good” or “Let’s follow up.” For patients with multiple eye conditions, even an additional 10 to 20 seconds of more in-depth explanation would make a meaningful difference. Finally, the absence of a patient portal is a significant drawback. Having one would make communication, follow‑up, and access to information much more efficient. I hope the practice will consider improving communication, providing timely updates about delays, and allowing physicians a bit more time with each patient. These changes would greatly enhance the overall quality of care.

I have nothing negative to say about Dr. Blake and his knowledge or skill. However this is the worst ran medical office I’ve experienced. Refused to work with me on an affordable payment plan, despite my attempt to pay within reason on the balance. I drove 2.5 hrs one way for this appointment, I could have been advised beforehand. I finally walked out without being seen for my 3 month post-op detached retina repair. The day after my initial surgery I had to follow up there on a Saturday. Was told someone would greet us at the locked door and was left standing in 8° weather for an hour because the tech forgot he had other patients. Every time I’ve had documents filled out for work they have my name spelled incorrectly and have scribbled through the errors made. Never seen an office ran quite this way.

Today was my first visit and I saw Dr. Busquets. He was great. He was friendly and explained everything to me. He made me feel very comfortable.

So many techs and front desk people no wonder when you see a doctor the fees are through the roof. Dr Ricca gave my husband about 5 minutes of his time, told him was at the wrong doctor needed a glaucoma doctor, and literally looked in his eye 2 seconds and was gone.

I was taking my mother here and like some others here I gave them a few chances. I wish I hadn’t. Their tech Anthony kicked off the fun by telling my 85 year old mom that “it could be worse” when she said the injection hurt. And yes it did get worse. We saw Dr Shirkey who runs in and jabs you in the eye like she’s late for her 5k. And another doctor with a little bow tie and demeanor of a 3rd grade music teacher who quips, “that’s why I’m telling you!” when we asked about the current condition of the macular degeneration after a few injections. But were you telling me? Since I was asking a question that I didn’t know the answer to. I luckily got her into a new doctor and called to get her medical records sent over but was told I had to be power of attorney, even though I handle all of her appointments. But that’s ok, we will get them and this place will be a bad memory. If you care about your loved ones, don’t take them here! They are big, not good. You get herded from room to room like cattle and treated like trash.
