I made the office staff aware of several problems prior to my visit. I did not receives notice of my appointment. I tried to call the office at the stated start is the business. No answer. I tried at 8:05. No answer. 8:10 No answer. I assumed I had the wrong date. I did finally speak with someone in retail. Found that I did have an appointment and I did come. The two ladies at the front desk did not seem too concerned about what I had experienced until I pressed them about fixing the problems. The professional staff were amazing and always have been.

I cannot say enough good things about my experience. After dealing with a painful eye issue for years, Dr. Kuipers was kind, knowledgeable, and thorough. The treatment she prescribed gave me immediate relief. I’ve always had great experiences at Independent Optical, but this visit was especially meaningful and made a lasting impact. Thank you so much for your exceptional care!!

My experience was excellent. Dr. Rotella and staff are professional and were very knowledgeable of my issue. A quick referral was made and because of them, proper treatment was administered. I highly recommend them.

Disappointing experience. We scheduled an appointment nearly two months in advance for our 2-year-old daughter to be evaluated for an eye alignment concern. Because of the importance of early intervention for young children, we were looking forward to finally having her seen. On the day of the appointment, my wife called ahead to let the office know we might be 5–10 minutes late. We arrived 6 minutes after the scheduled appointment time and were informed that our daughter could not be seen and would need to be rescheduled. The next available appointment was approximately two months later, meaning a concern we had already waited nearly two months to address would now be delayed another two months. What was most disappointing was not simply the scheduling policy, but the overall experience. We did not feel welcomed during our phone call or when we arrived. When I expressed concern about the delay and asked if there was anything we should do while waiting for the new appointment, I was told there was no advice that could be provided. I understand that medical offices must maintain schedules and policies. However, given that we called ahead, arrived only six minutes late, and were seeking care for a very young child with a vision concern, I had hoped for more flexibility, empathy, or guidance. I am sharing this experience so that other parents understand the office's lateness policy and can plan accordingly.

First time here and such a pleasant experience! Everyone is so friendly and helpful! Funny enough I was actually sad to leave my appointment because everyone was such a pleasure to be around! 10/10 recommend them!
