Always a pleasure going here—and I see better than I ever have. I actually prefer wearing glasses now because my prescription was updated so well. I have seen both doctors and both were very pleasant and conversational. They did suggest some of their pricier services, but they have never been pushy about their services and immediately understand that I am not interested when I said I wasn't interested. Easy enough! Highly recommend.

Be sure you understand that they will charge you $39.99 beyond your co pays for an elective eye test BEFORE going in for your first visit with this clinic. I did not realize, and don't feel they were 100% transparent about this - they know it's confusing. The receptionist mentioned a lot of people are caught off guard and it's a common complaint/issue. This is not transparent as a medical provider. I had an appointment because I have issues reading on the computer - it's likely I missed the fine print. I paid $80 today when I was prepared to pay just our minimal copay with our high tier insurance plan. While Dawn seemed nice, she was also very invested in selling me lenses not covered by insurance (some premium brand they're selling), and missed a cyst in my eye during my exam, stating everything looked fine. I asked her about it again and pointed it out, while asking about other issues, and she apologized for not being thorough/missing the obvious issue. I also had a VR experience that I was not prepared for during the multitude of tests. I've not tried VR before, and certainly didn't think it was going to be used during my appointment, and it made me sick/claustrophobic - and a little uneasy. I'm not confident in the entire experience, however, and feel it was a sales pitch/session vs medical care. The staff helping was great and Isabella is very good assistant - I was not prepared for the battery of machines, test, and head gear they put me thru, and mainly the lack of communication about 'premium' exams/test that are out of pocket payable to the clinic/Dr. owners. After speaking with Dawn directly after our poor experience, she suggested she would delete my visit today, and refund the premium fees I was charged - basically dismissing the issue or care for patients. I do feel it could have been handled better, there was no apology, no understanding and I feel my concerns were met with hostility instead of genuine care about a patient. I think with more communication to patients, and better care all around - this would be a great practice. Their selection of frames seemed nice, good brands.

Do not go to Visionsource Rapid City, SD if you are DIABETIC!! You schedule a yearly eye exam and they bill your medical insurance and REFUSE to bill your vision insurance for the refraction so that they can get extra money from you!! My yearly benefit did not get used and they never told me this is the way they bill! After I received the bill, the told me my vision insurance wouldn't pay them enough and I should of had 2 separate exams to bill that way. I was never told that, ever, the entire time making the appointment, or during. Before the appointment they told me they accepted my vision insurance, but THEY DON'T!!! DO NOT GO!!!

I was treated professionally and kindly, and things were explained well. The appointment was next level in terms of use of technology and my glasses fitting and ordering follow the same suit, professional and kind 10 out of 10 I recommend this business business wholeheartedly.

We were thoroughly impressed with this place! Dr. Pearson is an expert in his field and provided natural solutions to support my boys. He took the time to speak with them and explained everything in detail, which I greatly appreciated. We will definitely be returning regularly for all our check-ups. Thank you, Dr. Pearson!
