My college age daughters came here for eye appointments. The doctor they saw was ok. No complaints, nothing to brag about either. I did have a problem with their purchase of glasses, however. I feel the sales people here use shady sales tactics to get you to upgrade to more expensive eyewear. My daughters were also charged $90 each for a warranty they were not even asked about. The expensive charge was a line item on their statements that they brought home. Not once did their sales people ask if they wanted a warranty. One of my daughters had a sales girl help her with picking out frames suitable to her face. My daughter had a few selected and wanted a less expensive pair. Somehow the sales girl did a bait and switch and gave her these expensive Gucci frames instead. She avoided telling her the cost and expense until the statement was printed out. I just feel like we got ripped off here. We will not be returning. This year my youngest daughter was sent a text with an appointment time for another eye appointment and she did not even call to schedule this appt. They made it for her without even contacting her. It took her forever to get this appt. canceled. It takes forever to speak with a human at this location (by phone) and you cannot go online to cancel appts. This may seem like a convenient thing to do for patients, to make an appt. for them, but it's not. We will call to make our own appointments, thank you. Having you do it without consulting us is not a great business practice. Neither is the hidden $90 "warranty" charge on the glasses. I would also like to add that they messed up my older daughter's glasses order. She went to pick her glasses up after being notified that they were ready and when she got there, she found that they had not even put in her prescription lenses. The lenses in the glasses were clear glass. The sales person there had to send the order back and get them to fix their mistake. She said it'd take three days "max." Three days turned into several weeks. My daughter was told to call back every few days to see if they were in. (Once again, calling and talking to a human here is damn near impossible. Each call was about 20-30 min. on hold waiting to be "put through.") My daughter should have been given a discount or a free pair of glasses or something for this ridiculous mistake on their part.

Beware — you may or may not actually have an appointment. A few months ago, I called to schedule my son’s annual eye exam. Apparently, the appointment was scheduled too early for insurance coverage, so Insight Vision canceled it without ever notifying me. We showed up for the appointment this morning only to be told it had been canceled. Instead of acknowledging the mistake, the front desk representative repeatedly implied that I must have canceled it myself online. That would be impressive considering I’ve never even logged into their patient portal or website and wouldn’t know how to access it. What was most frustrating was the complete lack of accountability or basic customer service. There was no apology and no effort to address the inconvenience. As a busy parent, I rearranged my work schedule and took time off for this appointment, only to have my time completely wasted. Unfortunately, this is not the first scheduling issue I’ve experienced here, which makes me think their internal scheduling process is poorly managed. Very poor customer service.
I have always had great experiences at Insight. Most recently, I had some anxiety provoking test results, and Garrett went ABOVE AND BEYOND to help me figure them out and get everything taken care of. In a moment where I was panicked with anxiety, he made me feel seen and cared for, and I am so thankful for that!
Matthew Martinez, O.D. met with me to explain all aspects of my eye exam that was done at his office and later at an Ophthalmologist Office. Dr Martinez provided an absolutely excellent and detailed explanation of four separate items that I did not understand. I was truly impressed with his detailed explanation, the use of a model of the eye combined with my eye pictures taken at the earlier exams. His complete explanation made me feel extremely comfortable with the findings and for the first time, I have a full understanding - which gives me peace of mind. I highly recommend him - and appreciate his kind and caring attitude, patience, and knowledge of the issues!
I had been a patient of Dr. Troyer's and he was GREAT! Since Dr. Troyer was no longer there, when I saw in the bio of Dr. Justin Weigel that he and Dr. Troyer were partners I expected the same pleasant experience. I was so wrong! It was COLD vs WARM. I felt like the exam was rushed and he just wanted it over with. He asked if I had any questions and when I inquired about exactly what my distance and near vision changes were, he tried to explain it but he seemed irritated that I wasn't understanding. No patience with his patient and I felt very demeaned. I left my appointment sad, irritated and frustrated. I would NOT recommend Dr., Weigel to anyone.
