I had an excellent experience with OD Lia Pastorino. From the moment I arrived, she was professional, knowledgeable, and genuinely attentive to my concerns. She took the time to thoroughly explain my eye exam results, answered all of my questions with patience, and made sure I understood my treatment options without ever making me feel rushed. What stood out most was her compassionate and personable approach. She truly listens to her patients and demonstrates a sincere commitment to providing the highest level of care. Her attention to detail, clinical expertise, and ability to make patients feel comfortable are exceptional. OD Lia Pastorino is an outstanding optometrist, and I highly recommend her to anyone looking for comprehensive, compassionate, and professional eye care. She is a tremendous asset to her practice, and I greatly appreciate the quality of care she provided.

I was a customer of Iris back in 2014, moved away, and then came back to Iris in 2026. I was treated with so much familiarity and kindness that I have to come write a review. The folks who work there do so much to make sure I was comfortable, informed, and really worked with me with my crappy insurance. I had even decided on contacts and nearly placed an order when they let me know there might be a better option for my insurance (a better bang for my buck). They allowed me to try another brand for a week, I loved it, and as a result I got better contacts for less money. I am so happy as a customer and so happy I came back to Iris! Highly recommend!
My wife and I have been using Iris Optometric for several years- across three prescription updates for me. Elizabeth and the rest of the staff are always ready with good, friendly advice and are really helpful with finding styles I like within my budget. They have a wide selection of frames, and I'm always happy with the result when I back for the finished glasses! You might find cheaper but you won't find better! They take care of their customers.
Iris is, quite simply, the best optometric center I’ve ever visited in two decades of wearing glasses (and I mean they’re the best anywhere, not just in the Bay Area). The staff is friendly and knowledgeable. The space itself is stunning, filled with plants and natural light. The selection of frames is nice and wide but not overwhelming. They even have a clean, nice bathroom. They fill my contact lens orders over the phone and provide free samples when I’m running low, while the shipment gets to them. What more could you ask for?
I loved Dr. Hernandez. Great doctor, extremely thorough and great to work with. However, I couldn't help but feel like the business lacked transparency and treated me more like a sales opportunity than a patient. I made an appointment for a vision exam, but somehow I also got this additional procedure that took images of my eye that ended up costing an additional copay. I wish I had known in advance that this was part of it, and I would have opted out. I'm not even sure if it was even optional. My vision insurance card said my copay was $10 dollars for an exam, but I ended up paying much more. They sold me eyedrops that were $30 dollars. And I felt rushed into making the purchase. All of the lenses they dried to sell me on were $300+, and they seemed really disappointed when I told them that I needed to think about it. Overall, the cost didn't bother me as much as the way that business was conducted. Would really appreciate more transparency in the future!
