I’ve been a patient of Dr. James F. Twist, MD PC for many years, and I can say without hesitation that he is an outstanding ophthalmologist and runs an excellent practice. His diagnoses and treatment plans have always been proactive, thorough, and clearly explained, which has given me great confidence in the care I receive. Most recently, I underwent cataract surgery with Dr. Twist and the entire experience was excellent from start to finish. The pre‑surgery evaluation and preparation were very clear and organized, the surgery itself was smooth, and my recovery and follow‑up care were handled with the same high level of professionalism. I am extremely happy with the outcome and genuinely amazed at how much better I can see now. Dr. Twist combines deep expertise with a calm, reassuring manner, and his office staff are efficient, friendly, and helpful at every visit. As a long‑time patient, I truly appreciate the consistent quality of care and attention to detail he provides. I highly recommend James F. Twist MD PC for anyone needing eye care, from routine exams to cataract surgery and beyond.

Dr Twist and his team are excellent. I can't give 5 stars though. When you make an appointment a year in advance and wait to be seen for an hour or more, that's a problem. Dr offices are incredible. They will charge you if you're late for an appointment, but have no problems acting you have nothing else to do.

Dr. Twist is thorough and professional. He has always made room in his schedule when I've had urgent issues, and cares deeply for his patients eye health. His whole office runs like a well oiled machine!

Weirdest practice I have ever been too. Very odd. Charged me $200 without being seen. 1.5 hours after appointment time had to leave for another appointment and asked to reschedule. Showed up to rescheduled appointment and was asked to pay again. They keep your card on file for $100 charge if you cancel your follow up appointment but hold you hostage on the day and time. Required a 10am appointment in exactly 2 weeks which is very hard for me to get to at that time, they said no exceptions to change the day or time. But also the don’t have availability for appointments during that time so they double book you so you are waiting in the waiting room for a while. Don’t come here. Find another doctor.

Dr. Twist is amazing! Moved back to Buffalo 7 years ago and had to find a new eye doctor. Unfortunately, I first chose a large, prominent group & was very unhappy with the exam & personnel. The second one I chose (also well-known) had the techs do my basic eye exams. Had cataract surgery on one eye, but felt so rushed & dismissed by the actual doctor, I looked for another provider. Thank God I found Dr. Twist. He did such a great job on my cataract surgery I don't need glasses for that eye. He's thorough in his eye exams & actually listens to you and even remembers previous conversations. Wish I had found him years ago.
