Dr. Zaman was wonderful! She was kind, informative, and very thorough throughout my appointment. She took the time to ask questions and explain everything clearly. I especially appreciated her letting me know that if I complete my dilation within two weeks of today's appointment, it would still be covered by my insurance. Overall, a great experience!

I had a very mixed experience at James Leonard Optical. The doctor was excellent — professional, thorough, and the one positive part of my visit. Unfortunately, the customer service from the staff completely overshadowed that experience. After my eye exam, while my eyes were still dilated, I felt pressured into purchasing glasses. The staff seemed far more focused on making a sale than helping me make an informed decision. I was not shown a clear range of pricing options, and the overall process felt very pushy. Later, after reconsidering the purchase, I went back to request a refund, but they refused. I also asked about glasses I had seen advertised online, and I was told they “don’t carry those in store.” It honestly felt like they were steering me away from the lower-priced options and toward more expensive frames instead. I would recommend the doctor, but based on my experience with the sales staff and customer service, I would not return for eyewear purchases.
I think Dr. Farah was thorough and she was professional and kind. The pricing for the eyeglasses was surprisingly steep. I would have preferred instead of just telling me the cost is $500 to show me the breakdown and to show a little patience. There is no rush. Maybe I would not have chosen all the features, if included in the process. This time, I will take that $500 and put instead toward a trip out of the city!
I went to the Brooklyn store to get an eye exam and pick out some new glasses. The staff was very friendly and accommodating! The selection of glasses had all different styles and the employees treated everyone as if it was their own private experience. I highly recommend James Leonard Opticians for all of your vision needs!
Went in to ask for some quick fix information and suggestions. Fixed and realligned my current glasses, rescrewed and old pair I had on me and gave me step by step instructions on how to repair my other more seriously broken pair. I wasn't even a customer! If I was looking for a new pair they had beautiful frames and after this experience I would go back!
