Today was my second annual visit with Dr. Akbar and her staff. Dr. Akbar is very personable, knowledgeable, and thorough. She may well be the best optometrist I've ever had. Also, Esperanza, who is one of the doctor's office staff, is very helpful. Esperanza skillfully answered any questions I had and provided additional information and suggestions. Next year, I will visit Dr. Albar and company again for my annual eye exam. I highly recommend this JCPenney Optical location (in Joliet) for your eye care needs.

My whole family has come here since I was little. Both doctors are amazing & very thorough. Even with our insurance being out of network our loyalty has stayed with them! Much appreciated

I went to JCP OPTICAL in Joliet for an eye exam for contacts and glasses. When I picked up the glasses my vision was blurry with the glasses on. The staff told me to leave the glasses and she would talk to the optometrist the next week .He is there only on Thursday's. She said she would call me back but never did. I thought the contact was ok, but it wasn't. My eye became bloodshot, sore and developed a discharge. That prompted me to see an optimologist. He told me due to my specific prescription I was unable to even wear glasses which the optometrist should have known. The contact was fitted to too tight and putting an indentation on my cornea. The Optimologist told me that the contact lens was the cause of the eye issues due to it being fitted incorrectly. I have to use steroid eye drops and return for a reevaluation. The Optimologist told me do not put the contact back in my eye . In my opinion I am entitled to a full refund but JCP OPTICAL see it different. I Paid for a useless exam. 6 mos of contacts I can't wear. I spent hundreds of dollars for nothing. I was trying to save money but ended up costing more especially now I have medical bills from the Optimologist and I am not done. When I requested a full refund for all services I was informed by the district manager that JCP OPTICAL doesn't refund for contacts or exams. I'm am very disappointed with JCP. I was a loyal customer for many years. They hired this optometrist now take responsibility!!! Regardless of their policy this is unfair and unprofessional business dealings.

My regular doctor merged with another big name company thus making it much more expensive than I could afford these days. After looking into a few different places I decided to try Jcp. Nice enough doctor and staff but not impressed with the quality of the glasses. It's true what they say - you get what you pay for.

WELL HERE IT IS. I went to Lens Crafters to get new glasses but after they said it would cost $1000.00 for 2 pair I decided to search elsewhere. I stumbled on JC PENNY OPTICAL - big BIG mistake. I went on March 20th, staff there very nice but they can't make glasses. Waited about 20 days for my glasses, regular pair had a scratch and sun glasses not in. Went back, regular pair couldn't see out of them sun glasses had adjusting issue, staff said wear the sun glasses for a few days and see what happens. Regular glasses are in so went back, couldn't see out of them and still had problem with sun glasses. Went back today 5/8/18 and couldn't see out of regular glasses, asked for refund and they said fine on regular pair but not sun glasses because after 24 hrs no refund.. So I don't have regular glasses, can't see with the sun glasses and I'm out $300.00. Then they asked if there is anything they can do for me, I guess you would like to know the answer to that but I will keep this clean. This is a notice to people to be careful on going there. Again staff very nice but product is terrible.
