Beyond all doubt, YOUR stellar education and expertise have been the key difference in treating someone like me with a multitude of complex and severe medical conditions. YOU have ALWAYS been willing to take the time needed to offer the BEST POSSIBLE OPTION for me every time. MAHALO for helping preserve my sight, can’t imagine life without it ya know! I cannot say enough about Dr. Nancy Chen at Kapolei Eye Center. The difference between my first and second eye surgeries was truly night and day—and it all comes down to the care I received from Dr. Chen and her team. Dr. Chen is incredibly kind, patient, and knowledgeable. She takes the time to listen, explain everything clearly, and make sure you're fully informed and at ease. But what truly sets her apart—and I do not say this lightly—was the care and attention given before the surgery even happened. This wasn’t just a one-time consultation. It was months of thoughtful, thorough pre-op care. Every question was answered, every concern addressed. My treatment plan was tailored to my needs, and I never felt rushed or dismissed. That level of preparation made all the difference. Because of that pre-op care, my second surgery and recovery were smooth and virtually painless—a complete turnaround from my first experience elsewhere, which was very painful during surgery and continued for months afterwards. If you’re looking for a doctor who goes above and beyond and truly cares about your outcome from start to finish, Dr. Chen is the one. I’m beyond grateful.

Dr. Chen is such a talented eye doctor. She is very good at what she does. She’s the best!

What happened to my review? Seems like the Dr. has set up a new Google listing so no one sees what people are really saying about her. Do. Not. Go. Here. She ruined my friends eyes, refused to give another friends daughter her glasses at all, and she told me my son had vision problems and alluded to an off base idea that my daughter may have cancer in her eye. All of it was unfounded and left us with huge bills and it turns out my son has better than perfect vision and my daughter, praise God does not have cancer. Dr. Chen is not competent at all.

If you are looking for a thorough and professional ophthalmologist then Dr. Chen should be your choice. I have never had a more thorough exam for my eyes. During which I was advised that she discovered that I have glaucoma and cataracts, both of which I was never told about but has been present. She also performed eye surgeries for both of my eyes removing two different pterygiums that others did not want to handle, which resulted in the correction of Astigmatism in one eye, and improved vision in both. I am currently being treated for my glaucoma and I am glad she is the Ophthalmologist treating me.
