So very disappointed. My first exam appointment was outstanding. Dr. Hess was WONDERFUL as were the folks in reception, and the tech. Everything since has been a frustrating waste of time. I was scheduled to meet with Dr. Johnson who would have performed my cataract procedure. When i arrived, i first had to meet with a person named Maria who, in addition to being a bit rude and condescending, told me that she couldn't fax the release form to my pcp because "they'll just throw it away" and that i would have to take the form to my pcp (60 miles roundtrip). It sounded to me as though someone didn't feel like doing their job that day. When i queried Dr. Johnson about it, he said that of course it could be faxed. It was faxed, filled out, and returned the following morning. After a few wasted weeks and more communication mishaps with Maria, i told her (during yet another disappointing phone call) i'd be seeking treatment elsewhere. I'm too drained and frustrated by the experience to detail all the other problems and setbacks. I'm angry, sad, and so disappointed. I thought i'd have my vision back by now and, instead, i have to start this process all over from the beginning.

Trying to schedule my mother in law an appointment for double cataract surgery, where I preceded to tell the front desk I had trouble trying to schedule with OPI in Mentor, and I got a new referral for Kellis. In the midst of trying to get a date scheduled, she puts me on hold…for about 5-7 minutes to where she gets back on the phone and says their computer went down and can’t schedule my mother in law because of downed computers. I said okay that’s fine. When they come back up please just schedule my mother in law your first available appointment no matter when and I would get her there. She says okay no problem. I get no call back, so next day I call back to which I’m told they will not schedule my mother in law and my only option was to be sent to the office manager to know why?!?!? I’m not stupid…. The first call was her putting me on hold to call OPI to figure out what why it was so hard to schedule and I got black balled from scheduling with them…. How insanely unprofessional and actually illegal… HIPPA VIOLATION if I ever saw one… I wasn’t even going to be the patient, I am my mother in law’s caregiver so I schedule ALL her medical appointments…mind you with no problem! I filed a complaint with the Ohio Attorney General’s Office…Bunch of caddy, unprofessional people. Wouldn’t trust them to do anything… don’t go here! Ended up going 45 minutes in the opposite direction and was able to schedule her within 5 minutes with manners, respect and professionalism.

First off I want to say Dr. Kellis is absolutely amazing. True professional. I’m giving this a two star because of the staff upfront. I do have a balance I believe of $900. I don’t have a problem paying that bill but I don’t have $900 to pay upfront. They refused to see me for the follow up until the bill is paid in full. I don’t have a problem, even making arrangements to pay this bill weekly. I’m a seasonal business with very limited insurance coverage. It’s not their problem. I understand but arrangements could’ve been made not a refusal to see the patient… By the way, the billing person, Mary who handles this totally unprofessional. Couldn’t even turn around to look at me to talk to me about it.

Amazing care by nurses and Dr. Johnson. I had a chalazion removed and was pretty nervous about the procedure and all of the nurses and doctor did great moving through everything quickly and efficiently, while keeping me calm. Highly recommend!

My parents, both in their 80s, have both had laser eye surgery with Dr. Kellis. He's EXCELLENT and they're both very very happy with the results. The staff was ALWAYS very friendly and helpful, the place is spotlessly clean, and there is free parking with CLEARLY too few handicap spots, but there IS a "drop-off" spot where elderly and handicapped can get out of the car much closer to the door than from the parking lot. Unfortunately, oftentimes, there will be a FedEx, UPS, or Amazon can/truck parked there taking up almost the entire thing.
