Very pleased with my visit. I was happy with everyone, but the tech was great. She was very easy to talk to and explained everything well. Everyone was very friendly and made the appointment easy and less stressful.

I wish I could compartmentalize this review. The Tavares staff and doctors were excellent, and I was very satisfied with my cataract treatment and outcome. However, I am rating them one star based on their outrageous billing department which I am assuming is run centrally out of US Eye - their administrative and marketing partner. I specifically spoke with US Eye billing prior to the operation and let them know the specifics of my insurance coverage including showing them my coverage documents and what I should be charged. They refused to listen or to do the work of billing me correctly, (i.e. researching my deductibles and the amount that Blue Cross would pay them as an in-network provider) but insisted on me paying the entire cost of the operation out-of-pocket and promising that if they ended up collecting from Blue Cross that they would refund me the difference. Well...you know the rest of the story. Here we are 4 months after they collected from Blue Cross, and I have still not seen the $2,000 refund which they owe me. I have called half a dozen times and received a lot of excuses and promises. I am sure that $2,000 is not a lot to a giant company, but it is a lot to me. In my ideal world I would love to send them to collections, charge a 10% penalty for paying late, and send a letter to Blue Cross recommending that they be dropped as a preferred provider. But alas - I'm finding it true that you can't beat the system.
This was my first time at an eye doctor and the staff was very easy going, yet attentive and informative. I was getting an exam done for medication clearance, and didn't know what to expect. I was met with ease and all of my questions explained. Thankfully I did not need a script and it feels nice to know I only paid to pay my (anticipated) co-pay.
From the moment I walked in for my first routine eye exam at this location, the staff was friendly and kind. The whole exam was incredibly thorough and the staff made sure I understood every part of the process. Even though I brought my own contact case, they kindly let me know they had extras available if needed. It was simple gestures of accommodations that showcased the patient-focused experience. I didn’t feel rushed and all my questions were answered with care and professionalism. It’s clear they genuinely care about their patients. I highly recommend this practice to anyone looking for quality eye care.
Appointment for 1:45 didn’t get called back until 2:40. After the entire waiting room that came in after had already went back. No one apologized. No one mentioned anything. You just wait! No one cares enough to apologize. Waited for another 25 minutes waiting to be seen. Absolutely insane!
