Hands down the best experience I've ever had at an eye Doctor. I was disappointed because they were booked out for almost 2 months, I talked with Marian and she got me an appointment in a week! She watched for cancelations. 😊 Dr. Willson was the first Doctor to figure out my issue and correct it. I had neck pain for years and the day I put on my glasses I felt a shift, I held my head weird because of my vision. The relief is real!! I had fun with Marian and Gabby when I was trying on the glasses. I work in customer service and have for all of my work life and these people get it 😊 Thank you all so much!! You do your jobs well and I appreciate that so much!!

I had a great experience here! I just so happened to come in for an exam right before a big frame sale was going on, and the very friendly staff notified me that I could come back the next day to make my final purchase on frames to get the discount. They were really helpful and super nice. I must have tried on almost every frame in the store and they gave me honest feedback about what looked good and what didn't. Even the next day when the store was PACKED the staff was really nice and they got me all checked out and I'm so happy with my new glasses! So happy in fact, I ended up getting a second pair! Boom!

I’ve just recently transitioned to Lanter Eye Care after being a longtime customer at a nearby eye care boutique. Surprisingly, this transition was a marked upgrade in both selection and service and I thought I previously had found the best place in Indy. My first experience (fall 2020) was for prescription glasses and this was the first time I walked into a eye glasses business where I was simply overwhelmed with the selection of high quality and diverse frames. They carry inexpensive and expensive frames but the selection options for either were beyond anywhere I’ve been. Lantern is the only eye glass business which carries Robert Marc frames and for a reason. They are selective about their clients and Lantern clearly was a worthy recipient. Never having heard of these frames, I immediately could tell they were built well and the selection options and sizes were an immediate yes as I have a small frame and size is always the limiting factor. Robert Marc had more than enough smaller frames and each one was a keeper. More than the selection, the service I received was noticeably different. No sales pressure, my service rep was Marian Macowan. She herself was a consummate professional. All the appropriate credentials, she directed me to options relative to higher and lower quality frames and let me select. She redirected me from several desired frames which were expensive and that alone told me she wasn’t just selling to ensure her commission. Marian was so patient, so professional and no pressure. She has a great eye for minor things we as customers might overlook and she was professionally honest with each trial. She alone ensured I would buy there just by her presentation and honesty. I did purchase two Robert Marc frames and have been so impressed that I recently returned for prescription sunglasses. Again, exact same experience. It’s seldom I’ll write a review but Marian herself brought me back. She went way out of her way to help me find more frames (on several trips) and even ordered several frames online from Robert Marc website just so I could have more options. After they arrived, she nailed it and so I just bought both. I didn’t see what she saw and might not have selected either of these but after arrival and trying them on, she nailed it. I didn’t experience working with the Optometrist but the other reviews have confirmed what I experienced as well. Seldom do you find a retail business where you leave with the experience I had and because of that, I felt inclined to share my experience. This is my first review of any business so she left me with such a great experience that I felt a need to share. Lantern itself is a high quality business just by its presentation and inventory. Marian though and assuredly her peers just reaffirmed their elite status as a professional business who understands and appreciates the essence of customer satisfaction and true professionalism. You know it when you see it and Marian exemplified what being treated by a professional versus someone selling glasses really means. Hopefully, I won’t need to return soon but knowing I can walk into Lantern on any day and find a one-stop shop without compromising selection not feeling uncomfortable with the staff is something I hold onto. Hope everyone else shares my experience.

I have been a patient here for two years and their eye Dr Wilson is the best eye guy out there. Diane their office manager is a saint and a great asset to the practice as well. My issue is with their optician Maddie. I ordered a pair of Ray Ban prescription eye glasses with Ray Ban lenses August the 13th, through a calamity of errors and Maddie not listening to her customer I received these glasses on December 28. Maddie did not listen to my original order as to what I wanted, did not return my calls when during the first time they made them (glasses were redone 3 times)it took over 5 weeks and then when I pointed they were wrong basically called me a liar to my face. Of course I did not handle it well and went total Karen on her. In subsequent visits to this office I had my glasses literally thrown on the table by another worker at the Castleton location. I at one point asked for my 700 dollars (after insurance) back so I could move on and get glasses that were right, and I did let Diane try to make them right and unfortunately they are still not. In looking at the bill, I think I was overcharged as well, I priced these glasses directly from Ray Ban at 596 not the almost 1000 dollars I was charged by Maddie for something that was wrong. I highly recommend this office for your eye exam, Dr Wilson is great, but take that prescription and run to Costco a few blocks away, you will get great customer service that takes ownership when they make an error and since they are not commission based, they wont rip you off for hundreds of dollars.

Dr. Wilson and Mary Beth were fantastic. I’ve not had that thorough of an eye exam in almost a decade. They both took extra time to listen to my concerns, and I especially appreciate the extra explanation Dr. Wilson gave me on why I have the specific troubles with my eyes that I do. This is now my preferred Lanter location!
