I delivered my baby at NorthWell Lenox Hill Hospital . My water ruptured prematurely at 36 and 6 days. As soon As I came in, I was wheeled chair-to-the 6th floor labor and delivery. The nurses were very attentive and moved with care and urgency. Room I was in was private and clean. They made me feel so comfortable. Nurse Olga really stood out to me. She really helped with different massages and really was stuck at 6 cm dilated. After all the exercise, massages, and repositioning, Olga put me in, and I was 9 cm dilated. My OB the Dr.Dillon Knight, delivered our first bundle of joy. She was very attentive, motivating, patient, and smooth. She made the delivery easy for me as a first-time mom. She was awesome. When moved to post-parting room the nurses there all of them were amazing. I loved that there was a lactation specialist on the floor to help. It was a hit challenging for us to get a latch. They treated both my husband and I and the baby all three of us well. I will come back to this hospital again. My gayan’s and I appreciated all the support we’ve received.

I recently delivered my baby at Lenox Hill Hospital and overall had a positive experience, with a few areas that could definitely be improved. The biggest highlight was the staff. The anesthesiologists were fantastic — they took time to explain the epidural, answered all my questions, and had excellent bedside manner. My delivery nurse was absolutely amazing and made the entire experience feel calm and supported. Some things the hospital does really well: • You can have two support people plus a doula • The Northwell app lets you see medications, notes, and diagnoses in real time • You can wear your own clothes during delivery • Nitrous oxide is available as a pain option (though it’s still fairly new) • The discharge education was excellent due specifically to Erin— they even helped ensure our car seat was safely installed • The nursery was helpful when we needed rest and is fist come first serve • Bella Photography took beautiful newborn photos in your recovery room and allowed you to bring props • There’s a comfortable family room for visitors The birth registration office was super helpful, they didn’t put any pressure on us because we were still deciding the name, we really appreciated that. However, there were also some challenges: • Triage felt outdated and the changing area lacked privacy and seating • Delivery and recovery rooms are quite small with limited seating, having folding chairs • The postpartum unit sometimes ran out of basic supplies (linens, blankets, disposable underwear, no shower chair) • There were several instances where I requested medication or supplies and waited hours to receive it • Breastfeeding support felt discouraging rather than supportive • I was not offered a breast pump when told I wasn’t producing enough milk only told you use formula • Food ordering required calling a number and sometimes waiting on hold (would be much easier through the app); the food was actually pretty good. The patient transport elevator does not work properly, it took a really long time to move between floors and when discharged it took a very long time. Overall, the clinical staff and delivery team were wonderful and made a huge difference in the experience. The nursing staff was hit or miss. With a few operational improvements — particularly around supplies, postpartum support, and responsiveness — this could easily be an even better experience for new families. Tip of things to bring: 1. Compression socks for swelling 2. A donut pillow if you want to sit anywhere other than the bed 3. Sleeping bag for your support person 4. Adult diapers to go home if you have a long drive 5. Photo props for the photographer (makeup)

I had my open myomectomy done at lenox hill and I have only praises for the entire care team. Coming in first is my excellent obgyn, Dr Mio Sawai who performed the operation. She was able to diagnose and plan the surgery as soon as possible and did not delay anything. The entire nursing team at Lenox hill is simply the best. Arden, Dianna, Tara, Lydia, Maureen all the nurses took such great care and were so kind and helpful. It did not matter what the time was or how small the request was they were just always there to help and guide. Special shoutout to Arden who seemed more like a friend by the end of her shift. She walked with me the entire duration and encouraged me along with medical shows talk. I could not have asked for anyone better.

The care here is above decent among other NYC hospitals; 4stars. ER was on top of there game at their other facility. ICU here was pretty exceptional compared to city hospitals. We were fortunate all the doctors that attended to my mom had kind bedside manners and really placed concern for their patients. Supporting staff varies by individuals and that is expected from personalities and their own life situations. It is not an easy job dealing with ill patients. Everyone is cordial; few nurse, attendants, assistants, and PA are kinder that they make others feel a little better. It is definitely one of the better hospital to keep a patient in till they are 90% well compared to ones you are debating if the final option is worse. Here they are caring if you can't advocate for yourself, example non-English speakers; whereas, other understaffed staff hospitals or poorly run ones, they just don't have the patience or energy. Something to consider is this is a smaller hospital, they are limited departments but because of that they are can provide the better care. Security team gets 4 stars, they are professional and organized. Case workers/social workers as some knows only represent the individual facilities. From my experience they are usually all alright, I had met useless, unhelpful and out of human touch ones; who just checks off the box over advocating for the patients/family. I try to understand they have a challenging position trying to help with the few resources they have (read further). I don't think they are not trying or doesn't want to be human; same go with administration staff but rather tired and frustrated and often become distance as this is their job. No hospital can earn 5 stars only because one would probably have to donate a ward/building to get top notch care and attention. At the moment the low rating (will reassess later) because our American healthcare system and NYC is horrible and needs serious addressing and I am a bit annoyed. It is all about the money, which causing the system to lack empathy and resources. Should not be get people in and out on the cheap quick. Even if you asked staff to place themselves as the patient, their family members or friends; they to feel overwhelmed. This later parts are up to all of us as community to work on improve moving ahead because we deserve better; I am on it.

My father in law has been in and out of Lenox due to all his severe medical conditions for the last 9 months. From open heart surgery, to chronic kidney disease, to blood infection of mersa and lung cancer. During one of his ER visits few months back during his hospital stay of admittance as they transferred him to different rooms his bag of belongings disappeared. His clothes, shoes, wallet with ID, credit card, insurance card and $127 in cash vanished. We filed a complaint and nothing. Okay fine things happen. Fast forward 2 weeks ago he was sent back to the ER from the rehabilitation facility due to his hemoglobin levels being low. After day 1 when changed to his room his phone was stolen! We have filed complaints, reports and spoke to anyone who would listen and they said they would investigate and NOTHING!! Preying on a terminally ill individual where he cannot contact us directly and then doing absolutely nothing about it is disgusting and unacceptable!!! We are already distraught with everything happening and then to endure being victims of theft in a place where he is meant to be cared for is horrible!! No monetary reimbursements were offered and just absolutely NOTHING WAS DONE!! We want answers! We want reimbursement! We want SOMEONE WHO GIVES A SHIT TO HELP US!
