Five stars for LensCrafters at Fashion Island, and especially for Mindy. We needed glasses for my daughter right before a trip, and Mindy somehow helped us get everything done within two hours. She was so warm, patient, and genuinely helpful from start to finish. She helped us pick out the right frames, gave honest feedback, and made the whole process feel easy instead of stressful. What stood out most was how friendly and thoughtful she was. She did not rush us, she really cared about finding something that worked well for my daughter, and she made sure we left feeling confident and taken care of. That kind of service makes such a difference, especially when you are on a tight timeline. So grateful for Mindy and the team here. This location really came through for us. I visited LensCrafters / Island Optometry at Fashion Island in Newport Beach on April 25, 2025 for a routine eye exam with Dr. Ghezal Abdali. I was not experiencing any major vision issue and was comfortable with my existing glasses. During the exam, the prescription result showed a major and unexpected change in my myopia compared with my long-term prescription history. Before leaving, I specifically told Dr. Abdali that the result did not make sense and asked her to check again. She rechecked and insisted that my prescription had changed drastically in one year. Because that still did not make sense to me, I sought a second opinion from my long-time optometrist a few days later. That prescription was much closer to my historical pattern. A follow-up exam in 2026 confirmed the same result. The attached chart shows the issue clearly: the April 25, 2025 LensCrafters measurement sharply deviates from more than ten years of prescription history, and then the measurements return to the prior trend. I sent a certified letter asking them to address the issue, but they did not respond. I am now considering further action. Based on my experience, I would not recommend neither this location nor the doctors there for an eye exam or prescription.
Kenzie is always very professional, kind, and welcoming. She has great style and makes the whole experience easy, fast, and simple.
Monica was phenomenal and was able to help us with the fit of our glasses in just a few moments. She made everything perfect and was able to help us with something we've been having trouble with for quite a while. I was able to have her not only fix glasses from another store that couldn't do it right but she was able to lead us in the right direction on another pair of glasses I was looking for. Phenomenal customer experience
I along with my entire family have been a loyal customer of LensCrafters at Fashion Island for 20+ years, which makes this very disappointing. I spent about $500 on glasses after an exam in November, but the prescription was clearly wrong upon picking it up. I couldn’t see properly. I was told I could come back within six months, which I did last week. At my recent visit, they confirmed my prescription had changed, but then refused to update my lenses due to “dry eye and mild cataracts,” saying my vision may keep changing. Instead, they want me to pay another $400 if they were to correct the initial prescription I followed their instructions and policy as I understood it and still ended up with unusable glasses and no resolution. Very poor customer service and not how long-time customers should be treated.
