This rating is long over due. My children and i have seen Dr Casuga for over several years until we switched our health insurance to Kaiser. The entire staff is professional and kind. The cost of an eye exam and contact lens fittings was and still is very affordable even without insurance.

I went to Dr Liane Casugas office but i was treated by Dr Miki. My experience started off great. Dr Maile Miki is thoughtful and kind, and took repeatedly time to meet me to adjust my ( by her recommended) bifocal contact lenses. It was hard to get used to them, but with her help I managed alright. Until I went to photograph an event. I couldn't understand why I couldn't focus looking through the viewfinder and tried all kinds tricks and adjustments but nothing worked. Knowing that I'm a photographer, I wish Dr Miki would have advised me that bifocal contact lenses DO NOT work for photographers and that a normal contact lens would have been added to my prescription. So I went to her office and asked her to please add a normal contact lens to me prescription, but she refused to, and insisted to do a new eye exam that she wanted me to pay for out of pocket. I don't think I should have been asked to pay, but it was her attitude that threw me off. It would have been great to find a solution together, but to when I told her what happened, and that it would have been great if she would have informed or advised me that bifocal contacts won't work for photographers, she literally lied to my face, insisting she advised me to take pictures with the contacts. Which she did not. I'm very understanding and I know we are all humans and no one can remember everything at all times. But I really think you have take responsibility if you have made a mistake and at least try to help. When I asked her to take the exam and part ways, she said to me, she doesn't want to help me, because now her feelings are hurt. I have never been treated so disrespectful with a Doctor telling me she won't help me because her feelings are hurt. Unbelievable. If you want to be treated professionally, go somewhere else.
She is the best! Does a thorough job, checks everything, I can recommend her without any hesitations. Its also the way she treats everyone, you become the focus of her attention. I won't go to anyone else!
