Dr. Matt Rostami’s public comments and online behavior come across as openly hateful, prejudiced, and deeply hostile toward Muslims. The rhetoric I’ve seen from him is disturbing, especially coming from someone entrusted with caring for people from all backgrounds. A physician should be capable of treating every patient with dignity and respect regardless of religion, ethnicity, or background. When a doctor publicly expresses views that appear this hostile toward an entire group of people, it raises serious questions about judgment, professionalism, and whether Muslim patients could feel safe and respected in that environment. What I’ve seen from Dr. Rostami is completely unacceptable, and I would not recommend him to anyone who expects compassion, tolerance, and professionalism from their healthcare provider.

Dr Rostami and his staff have taken excellent care of my 83yo father. They have gone above and beyond to patiently accommodate his special needs. We are grateful for the care (and improvement in eye sight) he has received!

My 30 year old daughter started seeing Dr. Rostami a little over 3 years ago for Type 1 Diabetes related retinal issues. While the doctor does not have a warm & friendly personality, I will say that he is skilled and knowledgeable. Negative; his staff, has turned so many times since we started going there you never know who is going to be there each visit. Over the past 12 months, she would have routine appointments where we sat and waited in the waiting area or a tiny back room for close to an hour on some days. His office used to be more patient friendly, but it seems like more recently they just book as many appointments as possible and make people wait. Her last retina surgery was in January 2026, the surgery itself went well but the follow up appointments were terrible. We always had to ask how things looked and of it was healing as expected. It was almost impossible to get an actual answer so we made the decision to change to another practice for a second opinion and are happy that we did. It’s not personal, our time is just as valuable as theirs and we would rather spend it on someone who respects our time.

Everything went so smoothly during my visit, and I really appreciated the help I received. Ayumi was so kind, patient, and knowledgeable. I would definitely come back again!

I’m 25 and have been dealing with devastating eye problems for years. I was treated by retina specialists in Dallas and New Braunfels, getting eye injections regularly. I love my New Braunfels doctor so much that even after graduating from college and moving back home to Dallas, I would STILL make a trip for my treatments. My doctor felt bad for me and recommended that I see his colleague - Dr. Rostami - and that unfortunately was a mistake. He ended up giving me a cataract when he did the injection in my eye. I went back to my doctor in New Braunfels who referred me to Lone Star Retina, and he was so disappointed with the condition of my eye after the injection and the new cataract. I have dreams of going to dental school and with my condition I always worried about my ability to be a successful dental provider with my eye issues, but this has made it even worse. 1st picture - cataract (taken by New Braunfels doctor) 2nd picture - immediately after Dr. Rostami’s injection
