Have taken my kids to get eye exams and glasses at different places before, nothing special. First time at LOS FRESNOS EYE CLINIC, and I was so happy. Staff is super friendly. Doctor was friendly and explained things during the exam. Brenda has the patience of an angel and helped my daughter try on contacts for the first time (definitely challenging). & Karen was so helpful and patient as we picked and tried on frames for my son, even going to the back to look for more options for us. We left with great picks at a great price and I never felt rushed or made feel uncomfortable by any of the staff.

I do NOT recommend this place. Everything seemed okay whe the glasses came in when expected. When we went to pick up the glasses, they handed them to John and told him what he owed. He asked shouldn't he try them on first and see if any adjustments were necessary. When he put the glasses on, he complained immediately that he was seeing double. They told him he needed to get used to them, even suggested he wait until the next morning so he wasn't going from his old glasses to his new ones. But they wouldn't let him leave without paying the remaining bill and he didn't want to pay if they weren't right. So quite a discussion ensued until I finally asked the manager to check the prescription and make sure it was correct. Guess what, it wasn't!!! The office left out part of the prescription when they sent it to the lab. So, now they had to be remade. We had planned on leaving for our summer trip in a couple of days so we asked when they would be ready and were told by Friday or Monday, at the latest (3-6 days). No call on Friday so maybe Monday. On Monday John called the office to check on them after noon. But they were at lunch and the person who answered said they would call back. He waited until almost closing time and called again. They said the glasses had "not passed inspection " and had to be remade again. It would be Friday again before they would be there. So we decided to leave on our trip Tuesday morning after stopping by the office to pay the remaining bill and make arrangements to ship them to us. Now, mind you this fiasco was their fault but we had to pay for the shipping. No apology. While at the office on Tuesday morning, John asked them to check on the glasses again. They told him the same thing. Then, an hour down the road, we received a phone call. The glasses were there! We didn't turn around. We waited 10 days, then called the office to get a tracking number. It took several days and several phone calls before we got it. Then when John checked the tracking number, he discovered they had just been shipped that day. So it took them 2 weeks to ship the glasses. We now have them and they seem to be okay. But it took well over a month to get them and numerous phone calls that were NEVER returned. Don't go to the Los Fresnos Eye Clinic!
I went on Monday, Aug 9th and I had the best experience. The whole staff was so nice to me and my mom and Karen took care of me at the end. She was extremely helpful and understanding. I would highly recommend people coming here!
I went in for my annual check up mind you I advised the nurse that I was there for my annual only. I was taken in and had them put me through different tests I’m thinking are for my annual exam. The Dr finishes advises me I will need an eye lid cleaning it costs 500$+ I let the nurse know I was not interested in that. Then when I was told to go to the front they told me I owed a co-pay of a specialist of 50$ I was in shock because I specifically told them Annual check up included in my insurance plan. They argued with me back and forth, telling me I owed it because the Dr checked my eye lids and was prescribed drops and a cleaning. I refused the cleaning and the prescription. I asked them to please just give me my eye glass prescription they told me they would call me with my glass prescription it’s been 2 weeks and nothing had to call them to get it. Worst place ever I will not be going here ever again. Bottom line be careful when you go into the location if you’re going in for your annual don’t say anything is wrong even though they ask otherwise they will bill you!!
BE AWARE!!! Glasses here are overpriced and staff will negotiate price. They try to upcharge you for tests that are not covered by insurance. Dont fall for that, if you need just the prescription paper take that to walmart. Glasses are cheaper and better quality. Highly recommend going to another doctor
