I’am extremely disappointed with the way my husband was treated at this office. I sent him to pick up my glasses, and instead of being treated with basic professionalism and respect, he was made to feel uncomfortable and belittled. He was told that next time the “patient needs to call ahead” because they “don’t know if you’re here to steal them and sell them on the black market.” This comment was completely inappropriate, offensive, and unacceptable especially given the racial dynamic of the situation. Laughing it off afterward and saying “just kidding” does not make it okay. This was not a joke. It was unprofessional, disrespectful, and deeply upsetting. No one should be made to feel this way when simply picking up a paid for item. I expect better from a medical office. This experience has seriously damaged my trust in your practice, and I hope you take this feedback seriously and address how your staff speaks to patients and their families.

I went in for a routine eye exam for glasses and was informed that I had something in my eye that needed to be removed. The doctor used numbing drops and performed the removal. The following day, my eye became swollen, red, watery, and very painful, so I returned to the office on the third day to understand what was going on. After examining my eye, the doctor prescribed antibiotics. During this visit, I had an unpleasant experience with a front desk staff member. She was a young woman mid 20’s, about 5’5, black bob haircut and glasses. Her tone and body language came across as rude and aggressive. She refused to provide me with my prescription unless I paid a copayment, which had not been mentioned by the doctor. I had been given the option to either take the prescription with me or have it faxed over, so this requirement was confusing. The staff member then went to speak with the manager, who ultimately decided to waive the copayment. While I appreciate the manager resolving the situation, the interaction with the front desk staff was unprofessional and added unnecessary stress during an already uncomfortable medical situation. Clear communication and respectful treatment of patients are very important, and this experience did not meet those expectations.
Dr Vesper is very thorough and takes his time to make sure my prescription is correct. I have very bad eyes and appreciate that he puts so much effort into making sure we can get it correct. Office staff is also very friendly.
Dr Vesper and the entire staff were all so personable! Dr was on time, very honest and very thorough. Maricopa is lucky to have them here! I found my new eye doctor…after 16 years!
About two years ago, I was in need of glasses again. And since we were "still" new to Maricopa, we decided to use a local Optometrist. We made my appointment with Doctor Vesper at Maricopa Eye Care. I was examined and he asked if I had ever discussed an issue with my one eye with other doctors. The answer was "no." He initiated an appointment with Retinal Eye Consultants who in turn did an examination and did surgery on my eye. As it turned out, I was in danger of losing my vision if the issue was not taken care of soon. This last week we returned to Maricopa Eye Care. Dr. Vesper examined my eyes again. Retinal Eye Consultants had fixed the issue with my one eye. They had also placed new lens in my eyes which eliminated the need to wear glasses when doing computer work. Dr. Vesper did not see a need for new lens. Jan and I had a long talk with him, We thanked him for his diligence in taking care of my eyes. We recommend Dr. Vesper and his staff who are equally professional.
