For those of you that have given such bad reviews and had such horrible experiences, it stuns me! I first saw Dr Kay over 20 years ago after 2 years of going from doctor to doctor, being misdiagnosed over and over again. Dr Kay, in one visit was able to diagnose that I had Multiple Sclerosis. Although because of medical protocols he was not allowed to officially give me a written diagnosis, he made sure to advise me to go to one of the best neurologist's in the industry. Dr Kay helped to save my life. When I came back for a future visit, as optic neuritis is a very big concern when you have Multiple Sclerosis, Dr Kay told me very kindly that I was more than welcome to come as often as I wished. But that with optic neuritis, regular checkups would not make a difference. He explained that you can be absolutely fine during your checkup and optic neuritis can hit fifteen minutes later. With Multiple Sclerosis, there is no warning sign for the optic neuritis. At that point I was under the impression I should come for monthly checkups, which at that time, being that he was not in my insurance plan, would have cost me two hundred and fifty dollars per visit. If all he cared about were money, he would have absolutely agreed with me that I should come on a monthly basis. Yet he was the one to tell ME that that was not necessary. So there goes your money hungry theory! I have had to go to Dr. Kay, a number of times over the last 20 years. And have always found him to be kind, compassionate, caring and patient. Throughout the years, every eye doctor I have gone to, whether an ophthalmologist or optometrist has heard of Dr. Kay and have always seemed to hold him in the highest regard professionally, because he is one of the top Doctors in his field. If you find yourself waiting a long time at your appointment to see him, it is because he takes his time with each and every patient. I am so very thankful he is still practicing and glad to hear he has students with him at some of these visits, so that maybe, just maybe, one of those students can grow to be even 1/2 of the Doctor he is. If you are more concerned with the amount of time you spend in the waiting room, or that your hair and makeup will get messy, then maybe someone of Dr. Kay's stature and caliber is not the right fit for you.

Dr Kay has been very thorough with my care. I am extremely confident in his methods, direction, and commitment. Dr Kay has always been extremely patient in answering the many questions I have for him each time I have an appointment....no matter how much time it takes! His manner is comforting, caring, intelligent and makes me feel that I'm in the best hands. The office staff in West Palm is friendly, efficient, helpful, and upbeat. While the wait at the office can sometimes be long, meeting with Dr Kay is always worth the wait. Excellence in care! Thank you, Dr Kay!

This was the worst experience I've ever had in a doctors office. This guy was rude , insensitive , arrogant and abusive. I told him I had an accident with my eye that caused a great deal of pain and he proceeded to continually press on the area that hurt over and over inspite of my objections. I also told him I suffered and have been diagnosed with ptsd recently and was having a hard time reliving the accident and yet he pressed for details more and more. On top of bringing me to tears he had a student in the room who he gave all his attention to. Compleatly ignoring my questions, my statements and most of all my distress. He kept encouraging the student to also press on my eye disregarding the severe pain it was causing me. And on a final note for some very odd reason he kept putting is hand on the top of my head messing up my hair completely even though I told him I need to work today and didn't want to get messed up. I left that office in such pain as a result of all the prodding and poking. It has taken me 6 months for the pain to subside only for this doctor to kick it up all over again. This man regardless of how medically adept he is should not be in the medical field. Im still in shock that he would inflict such pain when it was compleatly unnecessary. He was sadistic and abusive .

Dr. Kay was awesome! Very smart man. He truly cares about his patients. He treats his patients as though they are his family members. He REALLY listens to his patients! I am so glad that we found him!! We live an hour north of his office. The drive to his office was well worth the time and travel. So grateful to know him and have him as our doctor! Thank you, Dr. Kay! Jenny at the front desk was so kind, patient and helpful. Thank you, Jenny!

I was referred to Dr Kay several years ago and again today. I quit going to see him after the 2nd or 3rd visit because his office/administration/ support staff were so horrible, and actually beyond rude that I quit going to him. I did complain once and was met with indifference. So, today I was referred to Dr Connor in Palm Beach Gardens. I was told by his very helpful and friendly staff that he did not do eyelids anymore and they were referring patients to Dr Kay. Wow...I decided to look up the reviews on Dr Kay to see if things had improved. The first review I read stated, "HORRIFIC," front desk personal. He went on to state that he left before seeing the doctor. The horror story sounded so much like my past experience"s" that was over 7 years ago...I found it so astounding that I decided to write a review cautioning people regarding this office. It seems that nothing has changed. Now, what do I do? One thing is for sure I won't subject myself to the incompetence, rudeness and disrespect of this office staff just to see Dr Kay. Don't get me started on the long wait times...I highly recommend you find a different doctor until they make some radical changes with regard to their office staff. I would suggest firing them all and starting with a fresh slate.
