My brother, John M. recently went to Dr. Ashman. He has had previous eye cornea transplant in the past and was apprehensive about going in to a new optometrist. The Dr. was very polite, listened to his concerns. Very pleased with the visit. Highly recommend Dr. Ashman!

I am a patient of Dr. Ashman. I thought I had something in my eye and called to make an appt. I was told I couldn't get in the same day, but I could the next day at 2:00. Great, I stopped what I was doing, got ready and drove 20 miles to get there. I arrived at 1:50, gave them my name and told them I had an appt. at 2:00. I was told to take a seat. At that point I was the only person in the waiting area. In short order others did arrive. I noticed others were being called back before me. I asked an employee if I had time to another area of the store. She said you have plenty of time because we don't have you down until 3:40. I said they told me to be here at 2:00 she shrugged her shoulders, and I said I had better things to do than set there all afternoon. Though there was much that could have been said I left without causing a scene. I don't fault Dr. Ashman for this incident I know it is not his doing. Walmart tends to hire people with little or no education and job skills. They place them in positions that require basic office duties such as answering the phone and scheduling appts. This is far beyond the capability of many of these employees. In short order they have things turned into a train wreck and it is the hapless Walmart customer that suffers from their incompetence. I think anyone would have had a right to be upset under these circumstances. I did nothing wrong. I was there early for my appt. out of courtesy and appreciation for Dr. Asman. It is his office staff that needs a total makeover. My New Year's resolution for 2024 is not to spend one red cent at this Walmart store during the entire year. I've had too many bad experiences with this store.

By far the best optometrist I've ever been to. He is very knowledgeable and explained things better than any other doctor. The staff were very helpful and helped me pick my glasses for me. Would highly recommend to anyone.

Unlike B.P., I actually show up to my appointments on time and appreciate the service I receive. We should all strive to be better than the old curmudgeon B.P. who apparently was never taught self accountability or responsibility.

If you have insurance make sure IF they accept it you make sure their doctor accepts it. Evolve by Wellcare/Allwell is accepted by Walmart Vision Center but the doctor they hired doesn't. So you are forced to pay for your eye exam. and between the vision center and Evolve you don't get that refunded. Guess what....YOU LOSE.. Really poor business practice. I'll NEVER use these sheisters again.
